Sutherland Institute: Federal approval of Medicaid waivers is good news for Utah families

SALT LAKE CITY — Today, the Trump administration partially approved Utah's Medicaid expansion plan. Sutherland Institute's VP of policy, Derek Monson, released the following statement:

"This is a good thing for Utah families, taxpayers and the state's most vulnerable populations," Monson said. "The new work requirements in Medicaid will help low-income, vulnerable families climb out of poverty and the enrollment cap will protect taxpayers from unpredictable Medicaid costs.

"These waivers are a result of the hard work of Utah's Legislature and governor. We commend them for their leadership on this issue."
