Calling all bookworms: It’s National Book Lover’s Day!

By Christy Hovanetz

The smooth feel of 50# offset paper, the appearance of Garamond typeface, the flicking sound of turning pages and the smell of your steaming venti decaf non-fat latte creates the perfect start to an unofficial holiday, National Book Lover’s Day

Johannes Gutenberg made the love of books possible for the masses in 1440 with the invention of movable type for the printing press. Today, we can make the love of books possible for every child—and that can begin with scientifically based reading instruction to make each child a successful reader.

Reading is an education and economic matter, and it creates the foundation for all learning. Ensuring our teachers have the knowledge of what works and the skill to instruct all students to become successful readers is key to setting students on a path to learn, graduate and succeed.

Parents can help instill their love of books by reading to their child at home and embracing a culture where it is cool to read. Books allow us to create our own images, escape reality and relax while imagining what is possible.

The book is always better than the movie! Let’s ensure the next generation realizes this, too.

P.S. Thanks for reading all the way to the end! Be one of the first 10 people to respond to this email with your name and mailing address, and we will send you a great book to add to your collection.

The song is taken from the band's highly anticipated new album breathe, out September 13 on Hopeless Records. The album is available for pre-order at smarturl.it/tmpmerch

"Bloody Nose is about the fear of dying," explains vocalist and guitarist Dylan Mattheisen. "Thinking your body is failing and you're going crazy. Out of all the bloody noses I've had, for some reason a majority of them have been in the shower, which is what sparked the idea of this song."

Following the release of their new albumTiny Moving Partswill be hitting the road on a North American headline tour. Support will come from Fredo Disco and Standards. Tickets are on sale now at www.tinymovingparts.com/tour

Last month, Tiny Moving Parts announced their signing to Hopeless Records and shared the music video for breathe's first single, "Medicine". Fans can watch it here: smarturl.it/MedicineVideo

breathe is more than just an album. It's an emotional crutch. It's moral support. It's the friend we all need at our darkest times. It's the sound of a band coming to terms with their own mortality, their own anxieties, their own self-doubts. And it's a reminder that, as long as there are songs sung back as if our lives depend on them, we are never alone.
