Orchestra will begin this week on Wednesday, February 14th and Thursday, February 15th after school in the library. Students may join anytime during February. There will be a drop in parent information and sign up on Thursday after school until 5:00. If you can't make it to these days, just come the following week. Pick up a form in the office or contact Monika Nygaard 801-866-7933 to let her know you are interested.

Bates Elementary
This session of orchestra is for any student in the 4th, 5th or 6th grade who would like to play a string instrument! We start beginners and continue teaching basic skills for students with previous experience. Our goal is to foster good habits by teaching proper position and technique from the beginning & at the same time cultivate a fun, positive music experience! A parent information & sign up day will be held February 15th from 3:15 - 5:00 in the library. You may also register by filling out a form (available at the office) and including the fee of $55, which will cover all music, materials and t-shirt. Checks should be made to Monika Nygaard, not to Bates. Please return sign up forms and fees to the office in a labeled envelope. Instruments may be rented through local shops: Classical Strings, The Piano Gallery & others. New students may join through March 1st.
