October 12, 2018 - Inland Empire, CA - Assuming We Survive are ecstatic to release their EP Chapters today via Third String Records. Featuring previously released singles "Just So You Know", "California Stoned" and "Make It Out Alive," the EP delivers a wide range of energy and emotions, showing Assuming We Survive truly pushed themselves to show they have a lot more music to give. On today's release, the band shares "This album is the culmination of all the years of hard work and ups and downs. It's an honest insight to where we've been the past 2 years- our struggles and triumphs. I'm proud to say it's our best work yet." Chapters is available for purchase and streaming today via Spotify and Apple Music, while merch bundles are available here.

Along with producer Tyler Smyth (Danger Kids, Bless the Fall, Falling In Reverse), the band aimed to make a record that "breaks the mold" and takes the well-known passion, fun and energy of Assuming We Survive to the next level. The band shares that "The entire process of recording with Tyler was so much fun! He is such a talented individual and brought out our best. We worked hard, we played hard, and we laughed so much. We had a lot of silly inside jokes. He never put us down our made us feel like we couldn't do it. If we ever had trouble tracking a part he had this way of making us feel comfortable and confident in getting the right take. We are so grateful Tyler believed in us and wanted to take on the project."

If you aren't registered to vote or didn't get your registration updated by the deadline, Utah now allows same-day voter registration. Just show up at any polling location in your county with your ID and you will be able to register immediately and receive a ballot!

Our 501(c)4 (Utah Cultural Advocacy Alliance) board has voted to taken positions on TWO ballot questions: Opinion Question 1 and Proposition 4.

Opinion Question 1 // Our Schools Now // SUPPORT
If passed, the legislature would pass a gas tax of 10 cents per gallon to benefit education and our roads. 3 cents will go to roads, 7 cents to education, 80% of which goes to K-12 and the remainder to higher education.

The Utah Cultural Advocacy Alliance (UCCA) board supports this because any funding boost to education also boosts arts and humanities education in schools.

Proposition 4 // Better Boundaries // SUPPORT
If passed, this would create a citizens committee that recommends voting district maps to the legislature (our constitution requires that the legislature must vote on all redistricting maps). The legislature has to approve new maps every ten years after the census is conducted. This committee would prevent gerrymandering. For example, the city of Ogden is split into three house districts!

We at Utah Cultural Advocacy Alliance support Prop 4 because we believe fairer districts leads to better elected officials and thereby better champions of culture.

No matter how you plan to vote this election cycle, we encourage you to VOTE!

Best,
