Principal's Corner - We have enthusiastically moved into our third quarter of the school year. Students have figured out the rhythm of the school year and have the process well in hand. We have marvelous examples of strength throughout our school, and it has been exciting to see the growth and development being produced. Here are few ideas to help your student stay strong as we begin our second semester at North Ogden Junior High:
◦Encourage your student to take advantage of North Ogden Junior High’s Homework Haven- Monday through Thursday after school in the math department.
◦Regularly check on their grades, and make sure they take advantage of making up any missing work.
◦Take the opportunity to create study sessions with friends after school in the library.
◦Get proper rest and arrive on time for class.
◦Ask your child about their school day. Engage in conversation about what they have learned in classes.
◦Refer to the schools master calendar and prepare for upcoming events in which students might be involved.

#Our Show! Is a musical revue: a genre of musical theatre that includes many scenes from several of the best musicals ever to grace Broadway! The show will run from March 24th-26th with performances starting at 7:30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2:30!
#Our Show Synopsis and Director’s Vision - It’s the end of another year here at North Ogden Jr. High. The students are signing yearbooks and remembering the good, the bad, and the strange times they’ve had here at North Ogden. Each musical scene we do will be slightly modified from the original to fit a moment or scene here at North Ogden, and we will explore memories such as the first few awkward months of school, love (and the lack of), all the fun classes and extra-curricular activities, as well as the journey we all go through towards being true to ourselves and loving others for who they are!
Each musical scene will start as if it’s a photo out of the yearbook with student creating a tableau. The yearbook will be an image that will be part of the set design via a large yearbook in the back of the stage. The “yearbook” will serve as a backdrop for the segment of the junior high experience being explored in the scene, with pages that will open to a new set of photographs for each segment of the show. Hope to see you there should be a lot of fun.
Knight Minstrels is North Ogden Jr.’s advanced 8th and 9th grade choir! This is an advanced course in choral singing. Knight Minstrels is designed to help you continue to develop healthy, beautiful vocal technique, deepen your knowledge of music theory and artistry, learn to work together as a group, and develop a love and knowledge both popular and classical/art music. Auditions to join this amazing group are held every April.
Court Singers is North Ogden Jr.’s awesome all-boys choir! Two semester-long classes are offered each year for 7th and 8th graders. Court Singers is an intermediate level course in choral singing, so it’s a great fit for complete beginners to experienced singers!
Knightingales is North Ogden Jr.’s fabulous all-girls choir! Join one of two semester-long classes and get ready to let your inner songbird sing! All 7th and 8th grade girls are encouraged to join this intermediate level course to develop healthy, beautiful vocal technique, build knowledge of music theory and artistry, and sing some fun and beautiful music!
