ADVISORY: USDA to Announce New Strategy for Improving Forest Conditions
(Washington, DC, August 15, 2018) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and USDA Forest Service Interim Chief Vicki Christiansen will join Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Sen. Maria Cantwell, Sen. Steve Daines, Sen. Ron Wyden TOMMOROW, August 16, to announce a new strategy that delivers on the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Vision for Sound Stewardship on America’s Forests. A report of the strategy titled Toward Shared Stewardship Across Landscapes: An Outcome-based Investment Strategy describes the agency’s plan for managing catastrophic wildfires, along with the impacts of invasive species, drought, and insect and disease epidemics.
USDA Announces New Strategy for Improving Forest Conditions
WHAT: Secretary Perdue and Interim Chief Christiansen announce strategy for improving forest conditions.
WHEN: TOMORROW, Thursday, August 16 12:45 p.m.
WHERE: U.S. Capitol, S-115 Family Dining Room
BACKGROUND:
Federal and private forest land managers face a range of urgent challenges, including catastrophic wildfires, invasive species, degraded watersheds, and epidemics of forest insects and disease. As we see in California, the conditions fueling these circumstances are not improving. Of particular concern are longer fire seasons, the rising size and severity of wildfires, and the expanding risk to communities, natural resources, and firefighters. The only way we can begin to address the magnitude of the problem is if we greatly expand and strengthen our partnerships with states, jointly reviewing and setting priorities, employing each other’s unique knowledge, skills, tools and personnel. Toward Shared Stewardship across Landscapes: An Outcome-based investment Strategy aims to do just that.

These last couple years have been some of New Found Glory's best! We released our 9th full length album 'Makes Me Sick', toured the world celebrating the 20 Year Anniversary of our band, headlined the Sick Tour across the US, and just closed out the final Warped Tour shows in our home state of Florida.
We want to thank all you die hard NFG fans and supporters. If you missed out on those final 3 Warped dates, we just put the rest of the limited edition merch we made for those shows on our web store newfoundglorystuff.com.
Unfortunately for some people we have some bad news. This party isn't stopping. For every year that goes by, the more we value just how lucky we are to do what we do! There's so much more fun in the works in the world of New Found Glory!
This fall we will be completing the Trilogy! We'll be heading into the studio to record From the Screen To Your Stereo Part 3 where we cover theme songs from movies, some classic and some annoying, and make them our style! If you saw us on the Sick Tour in the spring then you already heard our cover of "Eye Of The Tiger" from Rocky 3. We aren't going to spoil the rest just yet! But before we go off and start working on that we want to present a video for one of our most loved songs from 'Makes Me Sick', "Barbed Wire"! We hope you enjoy!

"Infectious EP....Ultra-Promising Pop-Punk Band."- Billboard

August 15th, 2018 - LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles-based trio PVMNTS has spent most of 2018 taking the pop-punk world by storm. Today, they are giving fans an early listen to their debut EP Better Days, ahead of its release this Friday, August 17th over at Billboard.com. The premiere comes along with an exclusive interview diving into the origin of the band, the meanings behind some of the tracks and a look ahead at what's to come for the "ultra-promising pop-punk band."
There's a confidence within the EP's six songs that some bands take years to develop, but also a measured sense of balance. Because PVMNTS' three songwriters have a clear vision of how they see their future unfolding, and while they write songs that resonate on an emotional level, they realize the only way to make it through life's hardships is with a little levity. (Look no further than the tale of bedroom mishaps "Another Monday.") Billboard shares that "PVMNTS' hooky, ultra-posi songs reflect male camaraderie, group therapy sessions, and an emotional openness greatly exceeding that of the early-2000s oeuvre they otherwise emulate."
From the outside, PVMNTS appear to be on the fast track to success. After all, not only did some of the Los Angeles-based pop-punk trio's very first shows include a UK headlining tour in front of frenzied crowds and a highly coveted spot at the 2018 Slam Dunk Festival-but they did so on the back of a single demo recording, "Jumping Stairsets." Quickly after that, the band joined the Full Sail University Stage in Ventura on the Final Cross Country Run of the Vans Warped Tour and then again joined up with the tour for the last 3 dates, closing out the stage on the final evening of the tour in West Palm Beach. The band recently appeared on MTV's TRL and were guests on BUILD Series in New York City.
But behind the scenes, Freddy Ramirez (vocals, guitar, bass), Tyler Posey (vocals, bass, guitar) and Nick Guzman (drums) have been working toward this for nearly a decade, long before officially forming PVMNTS in late 2016. It's the culmination of those years of hard work and collaboration that's led to Better Days, PVMNTS' debut EP: a collection of undeniable pop-punk that seamlessly blends old- and new-school influences together with the muscular edge of the mid-2000s underground scene.
Produced by Kyle Black (New Found Glory, All Time Low, Senses Fail, State Champs), Better Days is the sound of a band unafraid to dig deep within themselves to tackle topics of depression, anxiety, death and self-doubt-offering a lyrical heft to match their musical bite.
Better Days Tracklisting
1. Chemical Trails
2. Hit The Ground
3. Standing (On My Own Two Feet)
