Gov. Herbert lowers flags in honor of Draper Fire Battalion Chief Matthew Burchett
SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 16, 2018) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert has ordered the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the State of Utah on Mon., Aug. 20, 2018 to honor the life and service of Draper Fire Battalion Chief Matthew Burchett, who will be laid to rest on that day.
Battalion Chief Burchett died from wounds sustained while fighting the Mendocino Complex Fire in Northern California.
The governor has previously issued the following statement:

When he left with his fellow firefighters to battle the wildfires in California we were so proud of his service -- now his heroism leaves us both proud and devastated. He gave everything to defend the lives of others. By so doing, he exemplified the greatest love and bravery of which humans are capable. We mourn for his dear wife and son. They are in our hearts and in our prayers.”
Flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities and public grounds from sunrise until sunset on Mon., Aug. 20, 2018 only. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time.

Bayside
Announce

August 16, 2018 - Bayside has announced that they will be releasing Acoustic Volume 2, a follow up to 2006's Acoustic on September 28th, 2018 via Hopeless Records. The record features one brand new track, "It Don't Exist," in addition to ten re-imagined versions of songs from across the band's discography. Fans can check out the music video for "It Don't Exist," which stars actors Jonah Ray (Mystery Science Theater 3000) and Deanna Rooney (Hidden America), here: smarturl.it/ItDontExistVideo. To pre-order the album, please visit: smarturl.it/AcousticVolume2.
"This album is strictly for the fans, more so than any other release or record," frontman Anthony Raneri shared. "We didn't want to just play them as they were written on acoustic guitars, we put a lot of time into re-imagining them. We wanted to give new life to some of the songs fans love, including some that have never been played live."
Bayside represent a lifestyle, a counterculture, and a deeply held conviction, diverse in thought and background but united by a shared desire for authentic expression. It's a spirit that permeates an impressive and storied discography, including Sirens and Condolences (2004), Bayside (2005), The Walking Wounded (2007, celebrated with a 10 Year Anniversary tour in 2017), Shudder (2008), Killing Time (2011), Cult (one of Kerrang!'s Top Albums of 2014), and Vacancy (2016).
With a spirit of deconstruction and re-imagination, Bayside returns refreshed and reinvigorated with Acoustic Volume 2. A blend of instantly recognizable fan-favorites and deep cuts, Bayside's latest release throws off convention in search of the distilled melodic essence and emotive power of their catalog. These aren't "stripped down" versions of Bayside songs so much as they are completely new discoveries, refashioned and broadened by possibility.
Unburdened by any expectations or preconceived notions, the band made the record quietly and at their own pace, steadily mining their past to build a new vision for the future. Musicianship and artistry is paramount, with a purposeful urgency throughout.
Acoustic Volume 2 was crafted in Franklin, Tennessee with Jon Howard, a musician and producer who has worked with Paramore, Dashboard Confessional, and New Found Glory. Howard is part of a hyper local community outside of Nashville that includes members of those bands, as well as Yellowcard, Saves The Day, Grammy winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, and Raneri, among others.
It was liberating for Raneri and longtime members Jack O'Shea (lead guitar), Nick Ghanbarian (bass), and Chris Guglielmo (drums) to tear down the walls, playing the songs any way they wanted, as though they had just been written for the first time.
In every note of the vibrant Acoustic Volume 2, a record that conjures the spirit of classic performances like Nirvana's MTV Unplugged or The Cure's most adventurous outings, Bayside serves up a confident reminder of their firmly established place in the rock music landscape. It's evident - from all of the lyrics tattooed on fans, the cover version and tributes that permeate YouTube, and the obsessive supporters worldwide - why Bayside continues to thrive on the strength of these very songs.
Bayside will release Acoustic Volume 2 on September 28th, 2018. It is now available for pre-order at: smarturl.it/AcousticVolume2.

YOUNG CULTURE
Sign To Equal Vision Records
New Single "Drift"
co-produced by Derek DiScanio & Sam Guaiana
Streaming Now via Substream Magazine
Albany, NY - August 16, 2018 - Pop rock band Young Culture is thrilled to announce that they have signed to Equal Vision Records. Fans can watch the band's new video "Drift," premiering now via Substream Magazine. The track, a sign of what's to come from the young quartet, was co-produced by Derek DiScanio (State Champs)and Sam Guaiana (Seaway, Coldfront). Catch Young Culture on tour this fall with Kayak Jones and If Only, If Only. For additional information, please visit: facebook.com/youngcultureNY.
On signing, vocalist Alex Magnan shares: "'Drift' is the beginning of a new era for Young Culture. The song is about struggling to make ends meet with someone who doesn't want something the same way you do. We're very glad to be able to give you something genuine through hard times and hard work. We're grateful to Equal Vision for being so incredible to work with and to our fans who've been here from the very start. Thank you all for being a part of this journey."
It's not often that a rock or punk band will make a hip-hop style mixtape just to clear their creative cobwebs. But that's exactly what Albany-based four-piece Young Culture did. Formed by school friends Alex Magnan (vocals) and Gabe Pietrafesa (guitar), who have been playing together for a number of years, Young Culture put out their debut mini-album, You, in the summer of 2016. It was followed up with a five-track EP called Blue. The former had a song, "Bedroom Floor" that featured Derek DiScanio from State Champs - a fellow Albany band - on backing vocals. The latter was co-produced by him and Seth Henderson, who's worked with the likes of Real Friends, Knuckle Puck and Sleep On It.
Young Culture - completed now by guitarist Troy Burchett and drummer Nick Cavin - toured those songs and began to build up a solid following, which remains strong today. But instead of working on new material for the band, the pair, fuelled by an inherent restless creativity, began to experiment, Pietrafesa sending Magnan different beats to write lyrics over just to keep their inspiration and creative juices flowing.
A complete 180 to the music Young Culture had made previously, the band released them as a mixtape under the abbreviated moniker YC. The songs served as an important writing exercise for the pair to sharpen their skills when it came back round to writing 'real' Young Culture songs. That influence is very much evident in "Drift," the first song the band has written since signing to Equal Vision Records.
The result is a song that redefines who Young Culture is as a band, but also reshapes the perimeters of pop-punk - although it should be noted that they're very wary of being confined to just that genre. As they should be - because there are many more layers to this song and this band.
The release of the emotionally charged "Drift" is helping to usher in a brand new phase of Young Culture's existence. They might now be just 20 years old, but both Pietrafesa and Magnan's attitude and songwriting ability display a maturity way beyond their years. And while this isn't an entirely new beginning, it certainly marks the start of something that's thoroughly unique, electrifying and engaging.

Dear Reader,
Please, tell me if you think this is fair...
While hard-working taxpayers like you are struggling to save for retirement...
And while the average retiree only gets $1,400 a month in Social Security benefits...
Several Congressmen (including the ones you see below) are laughing all the way to the bank...
Because they’re collecting what some experts are calling “Congressional Checks” of $115,000... $350,000... and even $2 million...
Checks that are available to you right now... Checks that SHOULD be yours!
Click Here to See How They’re Getting Away With $1,000s that SHOULD be Yours...
We actually found documents filed with the clerk of the House of Representatives...
Documents that prove they’re getting away with millions. (Click here to see it.)
Here’s the thing...
These checks are NOT some kind of perk exclusive to congressmen.
In fact, a few everyday folks like you are already cashing in.
Right now, there’s $1.17 trillion in total at stake... ready to be distributed in 2018.
Don’t let these politicians take all this cash.
Honest, hard-working Americans like YOU deserve this money more than anyone else.
And it couldn’t be easier...
If you want to collect your first Congressional Check...
You just need to click here, follow my instructions... and act before Sept 13.
Sincerely,
Matt Insley
