The following are highlights at NOJH:
-
Our school musical production “Guys and Dolls” is this week March 20-22 6:30 P.M. with a matinee on March 22 at 2:00 P.M. We truly have very talented students. Many thanks to Ms. Moore and Ms. Deppe and to all those that helped in any way; we are truly grateful for the tireless efforts on our students’ behalf.
-
Boys’ basketball had a great season going 7-1 and winning the regular season and then losing in the playoffs. Our girls’ basketball team has just wrapped up; they played hard and were very scrappy. Baseballs along with boys’ and girls’ track are now starting.

We would like to wish all those that will be trying out for student government and cheerleading squad good luck for the 2014-2015 school year.

We continue to try to be pro-active in addressing issues through our character education program. Every other week we have a new character education lesson that addresses concerns that teachers, parents and other students have seen during the current year. All the teachers in the school teach a lesson every other week about character education, so all students will be able to learn or reinforce what they know is important in maintaining “good” character. We feel like it has had a dramatic influence in our school and we have seen many, many positive examples of these lessons every day as we are out and about in the school. To also reinforce our “character education” program, all staff members are provided a stack of “Noble Knight” character cards. Staff members who see students exemplifying good character, reward the student(s) with a Noble Knight card. One of the cards is a buddy pass, which allows students and a friend a one time move to the front of the lunch line. It’s just another great way to emphasize that “Character Counts” here at North Ogden Junior High!
We thank you for all the hard work and good behavior to this point in the school year! With spring arriving we would ask you students to please “stay the course”. Good luck on end-of-level SAGE tests! Teachers are working hard to structure lesson plans and incorporate teaching strategies.
Thank-you,
Mr. Jay O. Anderson

PRACTICE WILL START MONDAY, MARCH 17th
The first two days of practice are critical. Please make arrangements to be there and at all practices. Athletes that miss practice without coach approval will not be allowed to compete at the meet.
***If there are any scheduling conflicts, including student-athletes that are participating in more than one sport or extracurricular activity, you need to contact one of the head coaches to discuss options for practice time and participation.
Track and Field participation is unlimited in number and has no ‘cuts’. During the first two days of track practice student-athletes will take part in a physical ability evaluationfor each of the track and field events. At the end of those first two days, each athlete will be positioned into the event where he/she will find the most success. Again, there are no ‘cuts’. All students will be able to participate in at least one running event.
