Sen. Lee Delivers Remarks on March for Life

WASHINGTON – Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) today spoke on the Senate floor regarding the 46th annual March for Life, to be held in Washington, D.C. this Friday.

“The story of American history is the story of our nation overcoming oppression, protecting the vulnerable in our laws and with our lives. From Independence Hall to the Bill of Rights, from the abolition of slavery to universal suffrage to the Civil Rights movement, to the triumph over Nazism, fascism, and communism… the American people have fought through prejudice and pride to assert and to defend the equal dignity of every member of our human family.

For all the powerful forces still arrayed against it, the right to life remains a part of who we are – a common heritage and, history will prove, a common destiny. That is why the March grows every year. Not only here in Washington, but in solidarity marches in state capitals around the country.

….

The struggle for life is just the latest battle in America’s long, noble crusade for justice, equality, freedom, and dignity. It is a fight worth having, a fight worthy of our heritage, a fight worthy of our children. One day soon, Mr. President: we’re going to win this one too. And until that day, America will continue to march.”

"CAN'T GET OUT OF BED"

LISTEN EXCLUSIVLEY VIA EDM.COM

NOW SIGNED TO AMUSE GROUP

January 17, 2019 - Los Angeles, CA - Crimson Apple have partnered up with London-based producer duo, Sondr, for a remix of their single, "Can't Get Out of Bed". Listen exclusively today via EDM.com, HERE. "Crimson Apple singer Colby Benson's vulnerable lyrics take center stage for most of the arrangement," EDM.com notes. "After the tension of each verse builds to a peak, however, a drop engineered to set a festival crowd into frenzied motion drowns out her looped vocal." "Can't Get Out of Bed" was released late last year to acclaim from Refinery 29, who wrote, "The four sisters [of Crimson Apple] are seemingly inseparable, and their vision for the band is strikingly clear." The remix will be available on all digital platforms tomorrow, 1/18. For more information on Crimson Apple, please visit: https://crimsonappleband.com/.

Hailing from Hawaii, Crimson Apple is Colby Benson (lead vocals/keyboards), Shelby Benson (guitar/vocals), Carthi Benson (bass/vocals) and Faith Benson (drums). Since the band's inception in 2012, Crimson Apple have shared the stage with such venerated artists as All Time Low, One Republic, Switchfoot, The Green, Will Champlain, and Hawaiian music legends, HAPA. The group's 2015 self-released debut album, Hello, garnered commercial success in Hawaii and across the internet, earning spins on iHeartMedia and Star 101.9. The year of its debut, the sisters also earned nominations for Alternative Album of the Year, Most Promising Artist of the Year, and Group of the Year at the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards--Hawaii's equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

Since relocating to Los Angeles, Crimson Apple have performed in numerous venues in California, Nevada, Colorado and Pennsylvania, signed a management and recording deal with Amuse Group (Perfume, BABYMETAL, ONE OK ROCK) and landed a spot on this year's High School Nation Tour. For their next release, the Benson sisters are collaborating with producers from the US, Japan and UK, bouncing ideas back and forth and being open to fresh perspectives. With undeniable chemistry on and off stage, and a musical bond only sisters could share, Crimson Apple seem to have all the makings to be pop music's next big thing.

New advances in storytelling technology are helping people gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of environmental issues. How can schools use virtual reality to make learning more engaging?

In a new interview with The Global Search for Education Founder C.M. Rubin, film creators Milica Zec and Winslow Porter explain how their virtual reality film, Tree, uses the latest technology to provide the audience with a greater connection to the environmental challenges our planet is facing. Tree transforms viewers into a rainforest tree. The viewer’s arms become the tree’s branches. His/her body becomes its trunk. The viewer can then experience life as a tree from seedling to its fullest form. Winslow Porter explains to C.M. Rubin, “We want to educate people on this entire wonderous world that is being threatened by extinction. To do that, we wanted to bring the actual scale rainforest into the player’s room.” Tree appeals to nearly all the senses. “There is no language in the piece, just the sounds of nature, which creates a universal story that anyone can relate to,” Porter says.
