The site will be open to the public from 11 am - 7 pm, coinciding with
Ogden’s Harvest Moon celebration.
O1|WALLS is a program for producing and executing sanctioned murals, digital displays and projections on privately-owned vertical surfaces- providing opportunities, funding and support to artists wishing to execute large-scale works. SEPTEMBER 18 - Hopeless Records, along with their non-profit arm, Sub City, is launching the Sub City Songs That Saved My Life grant, a $10,000 grant to be given to a fan or band working to make a positive impact. The 2018 Sub City Songs That Saved My Life grant will be awarded to a fan or band partnering with a non-profit organization related to mental health awareness and/or suicide prevention. Last year, Cassie Wilson, who began Half Access, took home the $10,000 grant. Halfaccess.org is a non-profit organization and serves as a database for detailed information on venues' accessibility and accommodations for disabled concert-goers. They aim to help fans be as prepared as possible for shows, and uses their database to work with venues on improving accessibility for all concert attendees.
"The Sub City grant gave me the opportunity to turn my advocacy into an organized movement for change," Cassie said. "It opened doors for me to find others who are equally as passionate about diversity and inclusion.
Neck Deep front man, Ben Barlow, is this year's grant ambassador. He said, "Over my years traveling with Neck Deep, I've met so many fans who have worked with non-profits to make their communities better."
He continued, "It's been amazing to watch them continue to make a difference in their own lives and others with the help of organizations like Hope For the Day, Crisis Text Line, The Trevor Project, and To Write Love On Her Arms. This is obviously a major issue we are facing as a community, and we are looking forward to seeing the many great ideas out there that could help make a positive impact.
Last week, Hopeless Records and Sub City announced the Songs That Saved My Life compilation album, featuring artists covering songs that played a pivotal role in their lives. The compilation will be released on November 9 through Hopeless Records and includes covers from bands like Neck Deep, Against Me!
