The United Utah Party Opposes Changing New Voter Privacy Law

SALT LAKE CITY -- UT On September 18, 2019, both the Republican and Democratic Party chairs testified at the legislature against a new voter privacy law, urging its reversal. The United Utah Party opposes any efforts to change the law, which would prevent voters from keeping their voter registration data private.

"As a political party, we believe the privacy of voters should take precedence over partisan interests," said Richard Davis, United Utah Party chair.

"Voters are tired of having information they must give to the state for various purposes used to bombard them with sales pitches. We can understand why more and more voters are choosing this option."

Since the legislature passed the 2018 voter privacy law, an estimated one in eight Utah voters have made their voter registration records private. However, both the Republican and Democratic party chairs said they need voter information to mobilize them to vote. Davis disagreed.

"Voters who want to keep their information private are saying they don't want to be contacted," Davis said. "We need to respect that decision."

The Republican Party chair said that his party needed the information because they have closed primaries and caucuses and that data tells them who is and is not a Republican.

"There is an easy solution to that dilemma for the Republicans," Davis explained. "Simply open up the primaries and caucuses so all voters can participate."

The United Utah Party is a new moderate party in Utah that seeks common sense, practical solutions to governmental problems rather than ideological remedies. The party has ran 19 candidates for office in 2017-2018 and received approximately 10 percent of the vote - far out polling any other minor party in the state. Sheehan and Damon Racing Ready To Take a Swing at Virginia Trans Am

Bow, NH. - September 18, 2019 - Virginia International Raceway plays host to Round 11 of the 2019 Trans Am presented by Pirelli Championship TA2 Class this weekend, September 20 - 21, with 26 cars entered in the most competitive section of America's leading muscle car series. After a bizarre incident with track debris fouling the LTK Ford Mustang at Watkins Glen and ended his challenge early, Tom Sheehan and the Damon Racing team behind the the No. 97 LTK Insulation Technologies car have an early opportunity to put things right and score the finishing position that their pace on the track deserves. After 10 rounds of the season, Tom currently lies in P14 in the Championship table out of 56 Drivers, having garnered 104 points to date.

Those figures however only tell half of the story, and any neutral observer would have to agree that Tom and the No. 97 Damon Racing backed Ford Mustang have had far more than their fair share of freakishly bad luck this year in TA2, something Tom alluded to when he spoke earlier this week, "We're down to the last three TA2 races of a season which, to date, I would rather forget."

With good grace, he accepted that it was up to him and the team to put things right now as the Trans Am roadshow swings into the 'Mother of States.' "The racing gods get another opportunity with The 97. The team is not satisfied. We are in it together. We are all doing our jobs and we're ready to take what that gets us. We've got to put the past aside and take a swing at VIR. We make our own luck from here on out. I've accepted our disappointments and I am grateful for this next chance to perform."

The "Full Course" at VIR is 3.27 miles in length with 17 turns. Originally opened in 1957, it was closed for 26 years from 1974 until the millennium when it was reopened by New Yorkers Harvey Siegel and Connie Nyholm using a "country club" model. Memberships to the track are sold. Each member of the VIR Club receives track time on member days, tickets to all spectator events, and other benefits. VIR's membership model has since been followed by other race tracks across the United States.

The first practice session for the TA2 drivers gets underway on Friday morning at 11:50 a.m. with qualifying at 5:50 p.m. that afternoon. The race itself - powered by AEM Infinity - gets underway Saturday morning at 10:40 a.m. with 100-miles of racing - 31 laps of the circuit.

Jim,

I talked to Newsmax (here) about the crisis in the Middle East between Saudi Arabia and Iran: if there is a war against Iran, it would make previous U.S. military campaigns in the Middle East look "like a cake walk... neither Mr. Trump nor Democrats understand  because they haven’t operated there  that our carrier battlegroups cannot survive in the Persian Gulf."

"Iranian coastal defenses would likely render the entire Persian Gulf off limits to U.S. Navy warships. Iran’s advanced surface-to-air missile defenses would be a significant threat to U.S. pilots," I told Newsmax, and we risk “hundreds of missiles that rain down on bases in Bahrain and Qatar that are ours, as well as Israel.”

The issue with using military force is "how wisely do you use it — and don’t get into another tragic misadventure like Iraq… If you’re going to use our military, you’d better know how it’s going to end before you decide it’s wise to begin."

We had fixed Iran’s nuclear weapon-making capability, then broke our word on the Iran nuclear accord. Now we think our military is going to fix it again? No: militaries can stop a problem, but they cannot fix a problem. There is an absence of this understanding in the White House and among the Democratic Party's slate of fine candidates, who lack the depth and breadth of global experience we need to avoid and prevent catastrophes like Iraq — which one candidate even voted for — and now, possibly, Iran. We saw it in the last presidential debate.

It was our nation’s investment that prepared me to be Commander-in-Chief. Now I'm working to get my message out to the country.

Respectfully,

Joe Sestak
