November 2 - Results: Student Mock Election - State by State breakdown

Good afternoon,

Newsela, a teaching tool used by over 10M students in ¾ of all U.S. schools, hosted their first-ever mock presidential election. Almost 385,000 students voted in the election choosing between all four presidential candidates.

Some key highlights below:

 

·        Hillary Clinton won in a landslide 57% for Hillary Clinton vs. 32% for Donald Trump.

·        Clinton took most swing states but Trump maintained his hold on Ohio.

·        Clinton also took some Republican strongholds such as Texas, Georgia and even South Carolina.

·        Younger students overwhelming picked Clinton while it was a much closer race with high school students.
