To encourage Utahns to donate to the Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund, Gov. Gary R. Herbert and Pamela Atkinson will take a tour of Freedom Landing, followed by a press conference focused on how the fund benefits homeless service providers throughout the state. As part of the event, Gov. Herbert will meet with several formerly homeless veterans who live in the permanent supportive housing at Freedom Landing.

Background

The Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund receives donations from individuals
and businesses on their state tax form. All donations to the fund go to service organizations statewide that work with individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The annual tax campaign highlights the opportunity Utahns have to donate directly to the trust fund, which enables vital services and assistance to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Bishop Responds to U.S. Space Force Directive

WASHINGTON – On February 19, President Trump issued Space Policy Directive-4: Establishment of the United States Space Force. Following the release of the Presidential Memoranda, Rep. Rob Bishop (UT-01) issued the statement below.

 

“This is a logical step forward using the military branch that makes sense. It will enhance our military dominance. I will work with Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson to demonstrate the integral role that Hill AFB is poised to play given the thriving space and defense industry in northern Utah.”

 

NOTE: Bishop is a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee and Utah’s only representation on an armed services committee. Bishop serves on the subcommittees of Strategic Forces & Readiness
