Larry Findley Leadership Award
Parents and students, If you feel like anyone on the BEHS staff (including support personnel, secretaries, custodians, coaches etc.) possesses at least two of the following qualities and would like to show your appreciation to them, will you consider nominating them for the Annual Larry Findley Leadership Award? ● Provides strong leadership at Box Elder High School. ● Performs his/her job in an exemplary manner. ● Makes a positive difference in student’s lives. ● Strives to do well in their interactions with students, parents, faculty etc. ● Goes the extra mile to make students & staff feel appreciated. ● Supports, and has great Box Elder Bee Spirit (Purple Pride). ● Works effectively with all groups in the community to create a caring and supportive environment where youth can thrive and achieve. ● Is involved with extracurricular activities. ● Goes above and beyond their regular duties. This is a great way to thank, recognize and show your appreciation to an individual for their dedication to making a difference in the lives of students at BEHS.

The Regents Scholarship Program Changes Sophomore and Junior Parents and Students The Utah System of Higher Education has announced major changes to the Regents Scholarship Program. The Regents Scholarship is a scholarship funded through our Utah Legislators. Eligibility rules and award amounts have recently changed. These changes will have significant impact on our Regents Scholarship students. Scholarships The following scholarships are available through the counseling office:
Heritage Theater Drauca J. Holmes Scholarship: Students must be a graduating senior, Utah resident, must be majoring in a field related to the Theater Arts, and must have been part of a Heritage Theater production in some way. Preference will be given to participation while in high school.

Mountain West Bank Business Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to a student who has excelled in business by taking multiple courses and has been actively involved in the Future Business Leaders of America student organization. The student selected must plan to extend their education to the college level and exemplifies the qualities of honesty and integrity which are important in the business community and in personal success. Student grades and special circumstances are considered. Mountain West Bank is pleased to again present this scholarship that was first offered back in the 1960’s by our predecessor, Box Elder County Bank. $250 check made out to student & the university they will be attending.

Big Sun Scholarship: This is a $500 scholarship for student athletes. Must be a graduating senior who is participating in any sport during their senior year whether at school or in the community.

Pursuit of Higher Education Scholarship: This award is for a student that has prepared well to continue their education and has taken AP and Concurrent Enrollment classes, but does not necessarily have outstanding grades or ACT scores. Students that have an ACT higher than 26 will not be considered.

Ladies Community Club Scholarship: This is a local scholarship for seniors who will pursue post-secondary education. Students must show academic achievement, school involvement, and community service.

Dylan Shaw Memorial Scholarship: This is $1,000 scholarship each, one for a

female student and one for a male student. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or better and a17 ACT or better and enroll in a post high school institution. A short essay is required.

Denis Petersen and Ray Grange Foundation Scholarship: This is a $2,500 scholarship for a graduating senior. Must be academically motivated and admitted to an accredited vocational institution with intent to enroll full time.

Divorce Matters Scholarship: This scholarship is available high school seniors and current college students who have either had parents go through a divorce or who have gone through a divorce themselves. This is a $2,500 award.

Utah Association of Independent Insurance Agents: This is a $500-$1,000 scholarship for students who will pursue a career in business or insurance. Students must have 3.0 GPA or better. Be active in extra-curricular activities, and demonstrate financial need.

Members First Credit Union Scholarship: Students who have been accepted to a university, college or trade school can apply. Students or a parent must be a member of the credit union since January 1, 2018 and funds must be used within a 36 month period.

September 10, 2018. You will submit a required video. Mountain America Credit Union’s 2017 Scholarship offers six scholarships to Mountain America Credit Union members and their families. The scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, community volunteer service and a written essay about educational and career aspirations. One $2,000 scholarship is awarded in each of the following categories: Community Service and Social Service, General and Other Academic Majors, and Business and Communications Majors.
