Nominees announced for First District Juvenile Court vacancy
SALT LAKE CITY – The First District Judicial Nominating Commission has selected nominees for a vacancy on the juvenile court. The vacancy results from the retirement of Judge Larry E. Jones. The First Judicial District includes Box Elder, Cache and Rich counties.
The nominees for the vacancy are: Angela F. Fonnesbeck, attorney at law; Kirk M. Morgan, chief deputy county attorney, Box Elder County Attorney’s Office; Thomas R. “T.R.” Morgan, attorney at law; Robert G. Neill, unit chief, deputy district attorney, Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office; and David M. Perry, partner, Perry, Malmbert & Perry.
Written comments can be submitted to First District Judicial Nominating Commission Chair Jeff Packer at judicialvacancies@utah.gov or Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, P.O. Box 142330, Salt Lake City, UT 84114-2330. The deadline for written comments is 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2014. The Nominating Commission may request further information or conduct an investigation of the nominees after reviewing public comments. After the public comment period, the names will be sent to Governor Gary R. Herbert, who will have 30 days to make an appointment. Governor Herbert’s appointee is subject to confirmation by the Utah Senate.
