This Is What's Been Ruining My Life?
"I just took the self test for Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. It's good to have a name for what have, but I can't afford more medication. I'm also afraid to talk to friends and family because of negative responses I received in the past." MY OWN HARSHEST CRITIC
The Teacher Put My Child in the Corner
"My third grade son's teacher moved his desk to the corner of the room, away from the rest of the class, and he faces the wall. I emailed her, but haven’t heard back yet. Has anyone else dealt with something similar?" HEARTBROKEN
We Both Have ADHD, But...
"I am taking medication and my girlfriend refuses to treat hers. She sees what medication does for me, and even asked me to go back on it when I stopped taking my pill for a few weeks. This doesn't feel fair." WHAT TO DO?
Will the School Expel My Child?
"My son acts out or is removed from class due to behavior problems nearly every day. The school has been working with us to try to help him, but I'm getting nervous that they'll tell us he can't come back next year." WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
Feel Like I Can't Manage Anything
"I was diagnosed with ADD last summer, and was relieved to know I wasn’t just a loser. But meds don't seem to work and nothing has gotten better. My house is a disaster, my marriage is a disaster, my job is a disaster...." LOSING HOPE
Did Meds Make Your Kids More Talkative?
"My 9-year-old started a stimulant last month. Her teacher says she hasn't fallen asleep in class since, and is often more calm — but, at other times, is talkative to the point where no one else can get a world in." ANYONE?

Thousands of Families, Educators to Explore School Choice at STEM and Charter School Expo
SANDY (Jan. 18, 2019) – Hands-on STEM demonstrations and student performances will be featured at a STEM and Charter School Expo expected to attract nearly 4,000 students, parents, teachers, and community members on Saturday, Jan. 26.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mountain America Exposition Center and will feature an impressive array of STEM projects from students throughout Utah. The various schools represented at the Charter School Expo will give parents the opportunity to discover what makes each school unique and which school best meets the needs of their children.
This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
“We are excited to see a growing number of Utah families exercising choice in education,” said Erik Roan, director of communications and government relations at the Utah Association of Public Charter Schools. “The benefits are a two-way street: schools face competition, pushing them to deliver the best product for their students, and families are able to consider their children’s unique educational needs. Here in Utah, we will be celebrating National and Utah School Choice Week with hundreds of events, one of the largest of which will be this STEM and Charter School Expo. Nowhere else in the state will parents see as many options for education as at our school choice celebration.”
This event’s organizer, the Utah Association for Public Charter Schools, works to provide top-notch advocacy, training, support programs, and benefits for charter schools statewide.
