In recent City Council meeting there was a re-zoning on the addenda, so residents came out to voice their thoughts and concerns over this project. We received the following from Tony Pitman:
“The Pleasant View City Council just voted to keep the land use the same as it currently stands on the parcel north of the church on highway 89.
This is good news for all of us.
I would like to thank the City Council for listening to the residents.
I also want to thank the developer. Unlike some who come to our City, this developer was great. He didn't get upset and is fine with developing just the homes that he can.
He would still like to try to work with the City to build the 9 homes that the current zoning allows as far as density goes. There are other restrictions that don't allow that many right now.
We would have to come up with something creative to allow that, but I think that is fair.

In 2017, sophomore Kip Conger's band didn't even make it past the first round of Utah's Battle of the Bands. But one year later, they not only competed in the State competition, but walked away as the 2018 First Place band and won the opportunity to professionally record their original single, “September Rain.”

Dear Citizens,
Another successful Founder’s Day is in the books. It was a pleasure to get to meet so many of you at the breakfast, the parade, the car show, and the Salmon Bake. It was a wonderful day for our community. The weather was just right, plenty warm, but not blistering hot. Thanks to all of you for making it a great day. A special thanks to all the staff and volunteers that make an event like this come together.
As I was walking along the parade route, I was thinking back many, many years. Back to a time when there was virtually no one along the route and most of the people were on the lawn in front of the red church. Now the route is packed with people all along the way. The route has not changed, but it was an amazing sight to see so many people supporting our parade. Pleasant View has grown a lot, and yet we still enjoy a small town feeling. A sense of neighborhoods and friends, not just a place to live, but a sense of community. I love that feeling.
Now on to the bad news. Your July utility bill will bring some new rate increases. The City Council has been very diligent in trying to keep any increases to a minimum. Water, sewer, garbage, storm sewer are all enterprise funds that need to be self-sustaining without general fund dollars being used to make up any differences. After completing some studies and identifying future projects and capital improvements, it was necessary to make some adjustments. I have written in a past post about our landfill and recycling tipping fees. I’m hopeful that we can keep our recycling for at least another year, if not longer. Every community in this County that is involved in the recycling program is keeping their fingers crossed that the world-wide recycling will again prove valuable and that we will be able to continue this great program going forward for a long time. Lastly, please be careful, make sure your cars and your garages are locked up at night. We have seen an increase of thefts and we need all of you to do your part. The bad guys know that there are only so many police officers on the streets at any given time, so any little thing we can do to help keep ourselves safe will help. Remember, if you suspect something, say something. Report any suspicious behavior to 911. I encourage you to look around at your City. Notice what is happening on your street. If it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Report it!
