BBB's Wise Giving Alliance recently joined with the FTC to warn donating consumers about misleading charity appeals and how to find trustworthy veterans’ organizations to support.
They have released some tips for donating, as well as lists of charities to avoid and ones meeting the 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability. This action is a great example of why it is important to make sure you check out a charity before donating. By using Give.org and donating to local organizations like American Patriot Service Corporation https://www.bbb.org/charity-reviews/utah/veterans-and-military/american-patriot-service-corporation-in-bountiful-ut-42023 you can be sure your donation is being put to good use.

On Tour Now
Edmonton, AB - July 20, 2018 - Canadian pop-punk quintet Calling All Captains is thrilled to announce that they have signed to Equal Vision Records. Fans can watch the band's new video "Disconnected" now, premiering via Alternative Press. For additional information, please visit: www.facebook.com/Callingallcaptainsband
"We're really stoked to be working with EVR. They've had some of our all time favourite bands, from Alexisonfire, to Pierce the Veil, to Say Anything," explains guitarist Brad Bremner. "We're a young band still, but we want to learn and get better. After meeting with Dan [Sandshaw], we clicked instantly and had nothing but good vibes when talking about the direction of the band and our visions. We're excited to see what the future holds!"
In a small basement in St. Albert, lined with flags and posters of their favourite bands, Calling All Captains have been working tirelessly to grow their art since they formed in February of 2014. To date, the band has released two EP's - A Way With Words (2014), and Disconnect (2016) and set up and executed several self-funded tours to support them, fearlessly cutting their teeth to earn every inch of traction. "This is what we love, and this is what we want to do. So, we make it happen" shares bassist Nick Malychuk. After a brief break in 2017 and some lineup changes, Captains came back stronger and more determined than ever, steadfast in their resolve to continue writing and growing as people, and as artists.
From their latest single amassing 500,000 plays on Spotify as an unsigned band, to touring across Canada and the UK and landing a spot on the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, the band's relentless work ethic and reputation for their high energy shows have been a testament to their explosive growth. Calling All Captains have gone on to share the stage alongside acts like Silverstein, Seaway, Boston Manor, Broadside, Like Pacific and Rarity, and more.
Calling All Captains is Luc Gauthier (vocals), Brad Bremner (guitar), Connor Dawkins (guitar), Nick Malychuk (bass), and Tim Wilson (drums).
