Global Hemp Leader Joins Bioplastic Camp
BY AXEL BARRETTAugust 23, 2019
Hemp, Inc. a global leader in the industrial hemp industry, announced today the Company began processing hemp products for bioplastic to help fill the growing demand for sustainable products and enters third natural product venture.
Hemp, Inc. has bi-coastal processing centers including the 85,000 square-foot multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina, a state of the art processing center in Medford, Oregon, and a 500-acre hemp growing Eco-Village in Golden Valley, Arizona.
The products include hemp, a proprietary blend of hemp and kenaf that is specifically formulated for the hemp bioplastics industry. Hemp, Inc. has previously created two natural products including DrillWall™ and Spill-Be-Gone™ for the oil industry, making this the Company’s third natural product venture.
The material for hemp bioplastic is processed at the Company’s North Carolina facility, which is the largest of its kind, and has completed positive beta testing. The blend will be provided to multiple companies to help fill the growing demand for natural and hemp-based products for the bioplastics industry. According to Grand View Research, bioplastics are predicted to control five percent of the plastics market by 2020 and rise to 40 percent by 2030.
“First and foremost, I have always been an environmentalist, even before it was popular to identify as such, which means being part of the supply chain for hemp bioplastic has me beside myself, walking on cloud nine,” said Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. “This is a venture no one else is doing in America and what hemp was put on this earth to do. While everyone focuses on CBD, we are here focusing on the next big thing, which is the industrial part of the plant – the part that can help save the world. This will be our third venture into the natural product industry, and I am excited to see what a difference our company can make.”
DrillWall™, which is a product of Hemp, Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC, is a non-toxic, biodegradable, and water insoluble drilling fluid additive used by many major oil companies. Additionally, the Company’s Spill-Be-Gone™, is a spill-absorbent product that is made from the core particles and powder of the kenaf plant. Kenaf is the same plant used in the Company’s proprietary blend created for bioplastics. This product can be used to clean up oil, diesel fuel, hydraulic fluid, solvents, water and most other liquid spills, and can be formulated to be fire retardant. Notably, Spill-Be-Gone™ was one of the products used to help clean up wildlife during the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Perlowin added, “As a company that has always been at the forefront of everything we do, this next venture into the hemp bioplastics industry with these products makes sense for the Company. We have demonstrated for years the Company’s and my personal interest in sustainability, and entering hemp bioplastics is positioning the business for the early phase of expansion. Just being part of this step of the supply chain is something I am extremely proud of.”

What is Hemp Inc?
What is Hemp, Inc.? As a leader in the industrial hemp industry with ownership of the largest commercial multi-purpose industrial hemp processing facility in North America, Hemp, Inc. believes there can be tangible benefits reaped from adhering to a corporate social responsibility plan.
PERSONAL REMARKS
Great new. Hemp bioplastics is one of the most promising biocomposites. We need an American player to give it a boost in terms of communications. Hemp is too often associated with cannabis.
What is the difference?
Hemp and Marijuana are both cannabis. Initially same plant but early separation of gene pool led to two distinct types of plants.
· Hemp: grown for foods, oils and textiles; and bred with other plants.
· Marijuana: bred selectively for psychoactive compound and used for medical and religious purposes.
George Washington (first US president) use to grow Hemp (used for textile). Hemp became illegal in the 1930s because of the Nylon industry (DuPont company). Making Hemp illegal was a great way to boost the Nylon business. To make it illegal they pushed the idea that cannabis was a (hard) drug.

Is Your ‘Inner Critic’ Undermining Your Career? 5 Ways To Boost Your Confidence
The workplace, like the playing field in sports, is packed with competition — often against oneself. It demands being at your best, reaching and exceeding goals, working hard to master all aspects of a position, and proving you’re capable of taking on more.
Someone might have all the requisite skills to succeed, but they also might become their own biggest obstacle when self-criticism gets in the way, corporate observers say. Confidence becomes a problem when difficult experiences at work, such as making mistakes or being passed over for an opportunity, cause us to question ourselves and create negative thoughts.
To produce positive thoughts and smooth the path toward success, one needs to create a mindset based on processes that are purposeful, says Grant Parr (www.gameperformance.com), a mental sports performance coach and author of The Next One Up Mindset: How To Prepare For The Unknown.
“The mind can get lonely and focus on negative things,” says Parr. “We risk giving our attention to thoughts that can eat away at us, destroy our confidence, and take us out of our rhythm.
“We begin to listen to a cartoon version of the devil who sits on one shoulder and whispers in our ear. So we need to develop ways to listen to that other voice within us, that angel on the opposite shoulder, to quiet the inner critic.”
Parr suggests a five-step process to develop a more positive mindset and boost your confidence in the workplace:
Focus on winning in the present. Dwelling on past mistakes or worrying about what comes next can create self-doubt. Staying present is key and requires resiliency, which leans on past training and the skills that led to achievements. Parr likens a resilient worker with athletes such as a placekicker, who shakes off a missed field goal and comes back to make the game-winner. “The workplace setting doesn’t wait for you to get over things,” Parr says. “And rather than fearing making more mistakes, you must ask yourself, ‘What’s important now?’ To be the best you can be in the current moment, you have to focus all of your energy on the present and embrace it.”
Breathe to relax and refocus. “Refocusing always starts with your breath,” Parr says. “It casts out distractions and allows you to be yourself. Focusing on your breathing reminds you that this is something you can control, and in turn you can control your thoughts. Ultimately, you’re training your subconscious mind how to use breath to settle you.”
Meditate. “Meditation builds off your controlled, sustained breathing,” Parr says, “and it becomes a practice to develop clarity and create a calm space in the mind. Meditation brings control and harnesses much of the untapped power of the mind. It aligns your mind, body, and spirit.”
Visualize. To reach peak performance, Parr says, people must be able to see themselves performing well. “The more precisely you can see yourself in action, the more you are able to adjust and control that image, change its details, and guide its outcome,” Parr says. “Visualization also entails tapping into an emotion, feeling the confidence of the moment that you see yourself making happen.”
Engage in self-talk. “Learn to become your own best motivator,” Parr says. “You can do this through the power of positive language directed at the self. We want to develop a language that creates purposeful optimism. Find specific language that can give voice to your feelings and enhance your internal drive.”
“Training the mind to generate confidence, qualm fear and spark joy empowers someone to be better than their negative side thought they could be,” Parr says.

Late Race Charge Just Short of Top Finish for Sheehan at Road America
Elkhart Lake, WI. - August 26, 2019 - Motorsports can be a very challenging arena, being the only competitive sport where the participants have multiple variables at the mercy of third-party components. That fact was amply demonstrated at Road America in Round 9 of the 2019 Trans Am presented by Pirelli Championship TA2 class this weekend for Tom Sheehan in the No. 97 LTK Insulation Technologies Ford Mustang, who started and finished in P17 despite getting up to eighth place in the race and lapping at a pace commensurate with a higher placed finish.
Tom's best lap time of 2:16:774 in the race dubbed The Ryan Companies Muscle Car Challenge was top-ten pace, but a series of mechanical issues meant he was unable to finish the job. It all meant a weekend of frustration for the Damon Racing team who have worked tirelessly on the Mustang only to see their efforts undone by circumstances entirely beyond their control. The team were forced to put a new rear-end in the car but that didn't stop Tom making the top ten in second practice with a time of 2:15:044.
During the race a recurrence of rear-end failure saw Sheehan complete 18 of the scheduled 24 laps, and he was philosophical about events at the Elkhart Lake circuit when he spoke after the race, "Obviously I'm disappointed and the whole team is disappointed. We worked so hard and showed glimmers of hope. We had mechanical failures all weekend. Brand new stuff. Components from two different manufactures breaking. I took care of the car. It's just bad luck."
The large fields for the TA2 class make it comfortably the most competitive section of the Trans Am Series. The pressure on the teams as well as the machinery is relentless and continues at Watkins Glen the weekend of September 5-7, so the New Hampshire based LTK Damon Racing outfit have a little under two weeks to prepare for what is always an iconic event at the former Formula One Grand Prix circuit.
