Lice Clinics of America Launches OneCure™, an innovative at-home device using technology developed by U of U Scientists to Treat Head Lice
Lice Clinics of America will also kick off a screening initiative for Head Lice Prevention Month in September
WHAT: Lice Clinics of America®, the world’s largest network of professional lice-treatment clinics will demonstrate its new technology that is now available for people to use in the home to eliminate head lice. The first-of-its-kind, FDA-cleared, handheld OneCure™ will allow parents to use precision-controlled heated air as part of an effective, non-toxic method to kill head lice at home, in about one hour.
WHO:
· Dr. Dale Clayton, Professor, University of Utah Dept. of Biology, will share how he and his team developed a novel way to kill lice more effectively using heated air technology (now called AirAllé) that was patented by the University of Utah and has now been adapted for home use.
· Claire Roberts, CEO of Larada Sciences, parent company of Lice Clinics of America based in Salt Lake City, will share how OneCure™ has been clinically proven to kill lice, super lice, and 99.2 percent of eggs in a single treatment that takes about one hour. The OneCure™ device has precision-controlled, consistent and evenly distributed airflow through disposable OneCure tips, similar innovative technology available in Lice Clinics of America clinics around the world.
· Lice Clinics of America - licensed clinicians will demonstrate the OneCure™, as well as the AirAllé® technology used in the two urgent-care lice clinics in Murray and Clearfield, Utah.
· Families who participated in the OneCure test trials are available to speak of the convenience and effectiveness of the new technology.
· Lice Clinics of America will also kick off a charitable effort to conduct free head lice screenings and treatments at community organizations such as The Road Home, for Head Lice Prevention Month in September and beyond.
WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 30, 10 a.m.
WHERE: Lice Clinic of America urgent care treatment center, 154 East Myrtle Avenue, #101, Murray, Utah
WHY: September is Head Lice Prevention Month, and the perfect time to call attention to more convenient, modern, non-toxic and effective ways to prevent and treat head lice. Traditional over-the-counter pesticide treatments are now less effective due to lice resistance to the pesticides.
Lice Clinics of America provides a full suite of treatment options for every budget, with the 350 full-service locations in Lice Clinics of America clinics around the world, and the new OneCure device, now available on Amazon.com. The OneCure kit comes with the device, two single-use OneCure tips, one lice comb, one bottle of non-toxic, pesticide-free liquid gel, and gel applicator to comb out lice and egg debris post-treatment. Lice Clinics of America has also developed lice prevention products, available for sale in the clinics.
