As the holidays are rapidly approaching, I wanted to reach out and see if you have began planning any holiday gift guide stories! If so, I'd love to chat with you about To Write Love on Her Arms to consider for inclusion.

TWLOHA is a Florida-based non-profit movement dedicated to finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. They been speaking out about mental health for over a decade, seeking to remove the stigma that is attached to it.

TWLOHA has an entire line of shirts, pants, jewelry, hats, books, and so much more - you can check out the TWLOHA online store HERE, and some of my personal favorite items below. Every dollar goes directly towards funding treatment and recovery for those suffering.

What I love about gifting my friends and family something from TWLOHA is the opportunity it gives to share what the organization is and their messaging of hope and help. Most importantly, I love that there's the potential to start a conversation that could help to save a life - just by wearing a piece of clothing.

It is more important than ever for us to continue the conversation and let people know that it is okay to not be okay. This is a message that TWLOHA has sought to share time and again through campaigns like "Tomorrow Needs You," this year's World Suicide Prevention Day/National Suicide Prevention Week campaign. "Tomorrow Needs You" raised over $200K, and received support from DJ/producer KYGOBrandi CyrusSusie Abromeit (Jessica Jones), Ashlyn Harris, Tobin Heath, Christen Press, and Alex Morgan of the US Women's National Soccer Team, actor Jared Padalecki, country star Hunter Hayes, Cleveland Cavaliers player Kyle Korver, and so many others.

The Myeloma Crowd™ Launches HealthTree® Aimed at Accelerating a Cure for Multiple Myeloma

Online Platform to Improve Myeloma Patient Outcomes, Provide Researchers with Aggregate Data Never Before Available

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Myeloma Crowd™, a division of the CrowdCare Foundation, today announced the launch of HealthTree®, a new online tool to help Multiple Myeloma patients find their best myeloma treatments and accelerate research toward a cure.

HealthTree is the first resource of its kind where patients track their myeloma lab values across all treatments, see personally relevant treatment options they could consider, view collective reports of anonymized data, find personally relevant clinical trials and contribute de-identified data to be aggregated for review by myeloma researchers and the patient community.

HealthTree.org is led by Jenny Ahlstrom, a myeloma patient and former systems engineer for IBM, who built the tool that would have helped her when she was diagnosed. Along with her husband Paul, an investor and entrepreneur, the Ahlstrom's approached Jenny's myeloma like they would a startup company.

"The healthcare industry still acts as if the internet doesn't exist with every patient having to reinvent the wheel to learn about their disease," said Jenny Ahlstrom. "HealthTree gives the 80 percent of patients not seeing a myeloma specialist access to information from the experts that they can share with their doctor. Patients could be living years longer with today's wide range of therapies if they received the right treatment at the right time."

Using machine learning, the same technology that allows Amazon and Netflix to predict what consumers will want to buy and watch, it is possible to identify patterns that could inform treatment decisions, improve patient outcomes and advance a cure for myeloma.

Once the needs in myeloma are fully met, there are plans to expand HealthTree to other types of cancer and terminal diseases in the future.

The Ahlstroms have just completed a 50-city tour during the beta test for Healthtree.org. To date, there are already almost a thousand patients are now using the tool that will enable new hypotheses around a cure by sharing their myeloma data and experiences.

HealthTree is free for myeloma patients. More information is available by visiting this link.
