Plain City was abuzz with all of the kids waiting in anticipation for the Easter hunt to begin. Off they go running to get all the candy they can. After the hunt was over and all the kids saw what loot they had found, the excitement doesn't’t die down. The North View Church out of Farr West has brought in bouncy houses, face painting and entertainment for the afternoon. This was a fun activity for all who joined in.
Plain City has a Community Clean-Up for Saturday May 3. Community spirit and willingness to volunteer is part of what makes Plain City such a great place to live. There are many projects this year for any groups that would like to be involved. Please bring the tools you will need for each project. Paint and garbage bags will be provided. There are a number of projects that need to be done:
City Office -Clean inside the building, clean out planting areas on all sides of the building, spread bark.
Lee Olsen Park- Paint wheel chocks, clean areas between the arena fence and asphalt roadways and parking areas, and clean out between trees and along fence line on west side of football field.
Town Square Park- Clean tables and concrete at the bowery, weed playground, level sand, clean tennis courts, clean fence lines and gutters.
Lions’ Club Park- Weed playground and level sand.
Pioneer Park- Plant trees
Detention Basin- Clean detention basin at 1550 N. 4535, clean out weeds at generator site in Still Creek and detention basin at 3300 W. North Plain City Road.
Detention Basin- Clean out area west of the sidewalk at 2850 W.
Fremont Wrestling Club recently held awards banquet to recognize student athletes for their great performance during the wrestling season. The wrestlers in the club vary from 4 to 15 years old, competing in 20 tournaments across the state. “In wrestling we prepare our kids to be responsible, respectful and hardworking individuals. All of our kids are dedicated athletes who always put forth their best effort. I’m lucky to be able to watch them grow and help them reach their goals,” said Coach Shane Denton. Fremont Wrestling club became chartered in 2010 with only 10 wrestlers. Now the club has 145 wrestlers that compete.
Plain City Arena is open April 1st – September 30th. Sunday is open ride and Saturday is open ride day unless there is a scheduled event. Call Colette Doxey for further information on the riding arena.

The 4th of July events are coming together—there’s a 5k Fun Run, Kid’s K Fun Run, goat tying, dummy roping, mounted goat tying, stick barrels, mutton busting and many more fun activities for everyone.
