North Ogden -“Impressive” is not a word you often hear associated with teenagers. But for 14 youth from St. James the Just Catholic church in North Ogden (495 N Harrison Blvd.), that is exactly the word that could be used. While most teens spend their days in idle pursuits, this group of teens has spent their time raising money for the church’s annual trek to a youth conference in Colorado that will take place July 17th and 18th. The youth are excited to attend a youth conference that offers inspirational talks by Christian speakers, as well as an hour long Adoration. Last year, the teens spent hours in line waiting for their turn to take advantage of confession. It is truly a spiritual experience for these young people. They were so excited about it that they have voted to invite the younger youth in the 8th grade to participate in the fundraisers so they can attend as well. This year, the funding did not allow for them to have private transportation, so the group will ride the Greyhound bus there and back.
If you would like to support this young group, please participate in their rummage and bake sales. You can also donate directly to St. James the Just Catholic Church for the trip to Steubanville, Colorado. Chrislee, one of the youth leaders, has stated that the community has been very supportive and generous.
