With More than 2 Feet of Snow in the past 6 days, Nordic Valley Opens Earlier than Scheduled!

Eden, UT  – Nordic Valley Ski Resort is kicking off the winter season earlier than anticipated due to more than two feet of snowfall and cold temperatures that allowed mountain crews to make snow.  Nordic Valley opens for the winter season on Wed., Dec. 5, 2018 with all chairlifts open offering top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding.

“While Mother Nature produced 27 inches of snow over the past 6 days, we’ve also had cold temperatures, allowing our mountain crews to make snow and bump up our opening day with top-to-bottom skiing,” stated Denzel Rowland, general manager of Nordic Valley Ski Resort. “Thanks to the hard work of all Nordic Valley staff, we’re excited and ready to welcome our guests back and kick off ski season earlier than originally planned this year.”

To celebrate the beginning of the season, traditional first chair festivities will be held at the Apollo lift at 10am on Wed., Dec. 5.   All intermediate and beginner trails will be open, plus expert trails like Upper Falling Star, Whiskey, Raven and Chainsaw. For more details, please visit NordicValley.com.   Get ski and snowboard gear at the rental shop, which opens at 9:30am, and the Ski and Snowboard School will offer lessons starting at 10am.  The Nordic Valley Grill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from 9:30am to 7:30pm.

“Nordic Valley is Utah’s best, most affordable family ski resort,” stated Rowland.  “With such a strong start to the season, we’re anticipating a fantastic ski season!”

New this season, Nordic Valley will begin its Weeknight Ski Specials as soon as the resort opens, which is earlier than offered in previous seasons.  Weeknight specials are from 3pm to 8pm and include Monday Family Night 6 lift tickets for $60, Tuesday Hero Nights - $15 night lift ticket with ID, Wednesday Carload Night 5 lift tickets for $60, and Thursday Local Appreciation night with $20 tickets (some blackout dates apply).  Every night features a special deal at the Nordic Valley Grill, for more details visit the website.
