A 38-14 loss to Pleasant Grove in the state 6A-playoff quarterfinals brought Fremont’s 8-3 season to an end. The Vikings went up 28-0 on four first-half touchdowns, before Fremont capped a long drive with a Mitch Stratford to Calvin Peterson lob pass just 2.2 seconds before halftime. But Pleasant Grove reclaimed the momentum to start the second half with a pair of touchdowns, before Stratford connected with Chaedon Dayton from 32 yards out late in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, after what looked to be a potentially momentum-building interception for Fremont was overturned on a roughing the passer penalty, the Silverwolves were unable to do more than trade scoreless possessions with the Vikings as the clock wound out without a Fremont rally.
