The Comeback And Rise Of Caleb Chapman
And “Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse”

Salt Lake City Music School and Performance Center Announces
Expansion Around The World

Salt Lake City, UTApril 4, 2018 — In November of 1998, while still at BYU, Caleb Chapman began a small music school in American Fork, UT, called the Crescent School of Music. Housed in a tiny brick building, the school launched with a handful of instructors and just over 50 students. In 2003, Chapman raised 4.5 million dollars in venture capital, took over a new space and launched The Music School with a focus on private instruction along with some ensembles.

Although business was good, the recession at the end of the decade caused the investors to shut down the school. After a few weeks, Caleb decided that giving up on his vision was not an option for him and he launched Caleb Chapman’s Soundhouse with an exclusive focus on music training through contemporary ensemble experience covering a wide range of styles including rock, jazz, country, and more. Within a few short years, not only did the Salt Lake Soundhouse surpass its pre-recession success, it became a model for a trio of Soundhouses now set to open in Nashville, L.A. and Boston. What’s more, there’s a franchising plan in place to build Soundhouses across the country and, eventually, around the globe.

Already an entrepreneurial educator, Chapman became an accomplished producer, bandleader and author, and has performed extensively as a soloist and with a variety of noted music groups including the alt-rock band, Neon Trees and his own project with vocalist David Osmond, the Osmond Chapman Orchestra.

The launch of the Soundhouse also led to several significant awards and recognition for Chapman. In 2011, the Berklee College of Music and the Jazz Educators Network (JEN) named him “John LaPorta International Jazz Educator of the Year.” In 2013, Utah Governor Gary Herbert honored Chapman with the “Utah Performing Artist Award.” In 2013, he was appointed director of the prestigious Jazz Band of America. In 2014, Utah Governor Herbert appointed Chapman to the Utah Arts Council Board of Directors and in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, he was selected as Best Educator in the Music Education category in the Utah Best of State awards. In 2016, he was named the Best Educator in all award categories and was elected president of the Jazz Education Network. He currently serves as an Artistic Director for Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts in American Fork, UT. Additionally, Chapman is Festival Director for the Peaks Jazz Festival and Artistic Director for the Puerto Vallarta Jazz Festival.

Now, with the help of music industry experts Rick Drumm and Andrew Surmani, Chapman will direct the opening of the three new Soundhouses, each of which will use a reimagined blueprint taking this combination rehearsal space and performance center to a new level. Along with the headquarters in Salt Lake City, these facilities offer the ultimate array of tools, services and spaces to practice, create, and perform music in a wide range of styles.

Hindus welcome Utah Government promoting outdoor yoga in State Parks

Hindus have commended Parks and Recreation Division of Utah Government Department of Natural Resources of launching yoga series in its nine State parks from April 28 to November 17.

An announcement posted at the Division’s website talks of reaping “both the physical and mental benefits of yoga”.  At each stop in the series, participants will be greeted in the morning by a Park Ranger and participate in a yoga session and meditation activity afterwards. “This Yoga Series is a great way for people to connect with nature, their mind, their body…”, announcement adds.

Meanwhile, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, applauded Utah’s efforts of bringing yoga to its State parks, calling it a step in the positive direction. Zed urged governments of other 49 states to explore various benefits yoga offered.

Yoga, referred as “a living fossil”, was a mental and physical discipline, for everybody to share and benefit from, whose traces went back to around 2,000 BCE to Indus Valley civilization, Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, noted.

Rajan Zed further said that yoga, although introduced and nourished by Hinduism, was a world heritage and liberation powerhouse to be utilized by all. According to Patanjali who codified it in Yoga Sutra, yoga was a methodical effort to attain perfection, through the control of the different elements of human nature, physical and psychical.

According to US National Institutes of Health, yoga may help one to feel more relaxed, be more flexible, improve posture, breathe deeply, and get rid of stress. According to a “2016 Yoga in America Study”, about 37 million Americans (which included many celebrities) now practice yoga; and yoga is strongly correlated with having a positive self image.  Yoga was the repository of something basic in the human soul and psyche, Zed added.

State parks of Utah involved in this series include: Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, Red Fleet State Park, Jordanelle State Park, Rockport State Park, Wasatch Mountain State Park, Antelope Island State Park, Goblin Valley State Park and Snow Canyon State Park.

Utah State Parks and Recreation, opened in 1957, whose Mission includes “to enhance the quality of life”; manages 44 state parks, heritage sites and museums; which are said to be explored by nearly 4 million visitors annually. Michael Styler is the Executive Director of Utah Department of Natural Resources, a state government agency headquartered in Salt Lake City.

Hemp, Inc. Applauds First-Ever CBD Summit Hosted by Natural Products Expo West

Spring Hope, NC, March 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), a global leader in the industrial hemp industry with the largest multi-purpose industrial hemp processing facility and mill in the western hemisphere, announced today that the Company applauds trade show-Natural Products Expo West, for hosting its first-ever cannabidiol (CBD) summit and recognizing the market potential for products made with the hemp-based extract. The 38th annual Natural Products Expo West & Engredea, the world's largest natural, organic and healthy products event, took place earlier this month (March 7-11, 2018) in Anaheim, California.

Expo attendees discussed how hemp-derived, full-spectrum phytocannabinoid products could contribute to a $140 billion industry focused on health-and-wellness products, reported The Cannabist, adding that many equate the growing popularity of cannabinoids to the emergence of the Vitamin C or fish oils craze that continues to penetrate the worldwide health-and-wellness marketplace.

“As more people become educated about the many uses and benefits of CBD, it is no surprise that it is being heralded as the next big thing to dominate the natural products market,” said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. “Recognizing the growing demand for hemp-derived CBD, Hemp, Inc. has strategically positioned itself to be on the forefront of this industry through its investment in the Company’s hemp CBD extraction infrastructure and focusing on strategic partnerships with operators throughout the United States.”

In August 2017, Hemp, Inc. announced the official launch of its NuAxon Tech CO2 Supercritical Extractor. On Nov. 2, 2017, Hemp, Inc. announced the delivery of its advanced CBD hemp oil extraction post-processing equipment, thus completing the Company's hemp oil extraction infrastructure. Hemp, Inc. announced its consulting agreement with scientific research development company HQ Global Education, Inc. on March 13, 2018. The agreement between Hemp, Inc. and HQ Global Education, Inc. is the first step toward executing Hemp,  Inc.’s strategic plan to have a joint venture between the two companies wherein Hemp, Inc. will house and operate a HQ Global Education, Inc. CBD extractor.

“The business synergies that will be realized between Hemp, Inc. and HQ Global Education, Inc. through this consultant agreement are paramount to our ongoing efforts to identify and align with strategic partners that will allow us to meet the rapidly growing demand for hemp-derived CBD oil and other products.  Hemp, Inc. will share with HQ Global Education, Inc. its proven expertise in the areas of growing high-quality organically-grown CBD-rich hemp, harvesting, extracting and creating a variety of high-end CBD products for its business and partnerships in the industry,” said Perlowin.

Per the consulting agreement in cooperation with Hemp, Inc., HQ Global Education, Inc. intends to become a leading provider of the highest-quality customizable extractions of CBD oil to this rapidly growing industry.  During this first year, HQGE will be deriving its income from two main sources: sales of high quality customized CBD formulations and subscription-based revenues from its exclusive CBD database generated by its proprietary web crawler.
Hemp, Inc.’s long-term strategy is to build the world’s largest hemp oil extraction infrastructure by creating joint ventures with multiple companies to house and operate their CBD extraction equipment in its 85,000-square foot facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina.

Hemp gains powerful ally to free it from marijuana ties

Cherry wine strain industrial hemp grows in a nursery on a farm in Pahrump on Thursday, July 6, 2017. A new law is opening up retail sales for products made using these types of Nevada-grown plants, which contain almost no THC.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Hemp advocates have a powerful ally in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The Kentucky Republican said he will introduce legislation to legalize hemp as an agricultural commodity by removing the plant — prized for its oils, seeds and fiber —from the list of controlled substances.

A look at hemp's tortured past and its prospects for the future:

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP AND MARIJUANA?

Hemp and marijuana come from the same species of plant, but hemp has a negligible amount of THC, the psychoactive compound that gives marijuana users a high.

THEN WHY IS HEMP ILLEGAL?

The family connection sidelined hemp production for decades. Growing hemp without a federal permit was banned due to its classification as a controlled substance related to marijuana.

The crop got a limited reprieve when Congress passed the 2014 Farm Bill. A provision pushed by McConnell allowed state agriculture departments to designate hemp research and development projects.

HOW IS HEMP USED?

Supporters tout the versatility of a crop valued for its oils, seeds and fiber. Hemp has historically been used for rope but has hundreds of other uses, including clothing and mulch from the fiber, hemp milk and cooking oil from the seeds, as well as soap and lotions. Other uses include building materials, animal bedding and biofuels.

WHAT WOULD McCONNELL'S PROPOSAL DO?

McConnell wants a full pardon for hemp by removing it from the list of controlled substances. That would restore hemp as a legal agricultural commodity, he says, and "allow this industry to continue to flourish here in Kentucky."

ARE MORE FARMERS GROWING HEMP?

Since the 2014 federal Farm Bill allowed experimental hemp production, crop production has spread but remains tiny.
So far, 34 states have authorized hemp research, according to the advocacy group Vote Hemp. Actual production took place in 19 states last year. Hemp production totaled 25,541 acres (10,336 hectares) in 2017, more than double the 2016 output, said Eric Steenstra, president of Vote Hemp.

In McConnell's home state of Kentucky, agriculture officials recently approved more than 12,000 acres (4,856 hectares) to be grown in the state this year, and 57 Kentucky processors help convert the raw product for other uses.

HOW WOULD MCCONNELL'S BILL WORK?

McConnell said his bill seeks to build on pilot program successes and has bipartisan backing in the Senate.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture would have to approve of states' implementation plans, but once that happened, states would be the primary regulators of hemp. The bill also would allow hemp researchers to apply for competitive federal grants from USDA.
