Wahlquist Junior High

Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - 10:30am

Parents,

We wanted to make you aware of how Wahlquist used our Trustlands allotment. The Trustlands program was set up to help fund schools using funds received for the use of designated public lands. This funding has been a huge help in creating the educational opportunities in which our students are able to experience.

In the 2017-2018 school year, Trustlands funding was used to:

  • Decrease class size through teacher buyouts in Math and Science.
  • Purchase textbooks, periodicals, and classroom sets of novels.
  • Purchase graphing calculators, ALEKS and APEX licenses.
  • Provide in-service for teachers
  • Purchase four Cellos, one Marimba, and one Tuba for our band and orchestra.
  • Lease 77 computers, 160 Chromebooks, four Chromebook carts and install technology infrastructure throughout the school.

We have two openings on our community council for the 2018-2019 school year. If you are interested, please contact the main office by September 12, 2018 (801-452-4640). A vote will take place September 14 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., if necessary.

Sincerely,
Scott Elliott
Principal
