Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission Meeting Scheduled
Salt Lake City, UT – The Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission has scheduled a meeting for June 13 at noon to review applications of individuals interested in filling a judicial vacancy resulting from the resignation of Judge Carolyn B. McHugh following her confirmation as a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. The Commission will meet in the conference room of the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice located in Suite 330 of the Senate Building in Salt Lake City.
The early portion of the meeting is scheduled for public comment about issues concerning the nominating process and issues facing the Utah judiciary. The nominating commission will not accept comments regarding individual applicants.
Following the public hearing, the meeting will be closed to allow the nominating commission to select candidates for interviews. At a later date, the nominating commission will select nominees whose names will be forwarded to Governor Herbert for his consideration.
