We have a Good Reminder for all. We live on a mountain and with the colder weather wild life may be sighted more often. Wild life could be anything from deer to cougars. There have not been any official sightings, but as a reminder with the cold, wild life do make their way down. Please keep an eye on your pets, animals, and small children.
Open Letter from Mayor Call:
“Well, 2018 is in the books. What a joy it was to serve as your mayor this past year. I’m looking forward to another great year. I want to take this opportunity to thank our employees. They do a phenomenal job in the performance of their duties. There are many others that serve on your behalf as well. The City Council, the Planning Commission, the Board of Adjustments, the volunteers that help with community events, your Youth City Council members and I’m sure there are some that I am missing. That’s the problem with trying to remember everyone that make so many wonderful contributions to making this such a great City to live in, you run the risk of forgetting someone. I hope that I haven’t.
I’m sure that most of you have had the opportunity to see a new project underway along 2700 North at the intersection of 600 West. December brought a much-anticipated ground breaking ceremony for the new Pleasant View Free Standing Emergency Room. This is exactly what it sounds like. It is an Emergency Room that is not physically attached to a hospital. This ER is part of the MountainStar Healthcare system. The way a freestanding ER works is that if you have an emergency and need to go to an emergency room, you can go here and be treated. If you need to be admitted to a hospital once you have been stabilized, you can be transported to an in-patient hospital of your choice.
It is my hope that you won’t have to use the ER. But, I know that many of us will. I personally have taken loved ones to the ER four times during just the last three months. An ER located within a few minutes versus 20 minutes will not be just a timesaver but will truly be a lifesaver.
I am committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that Pleasant View remains the best place to not only grow up, but the best place to grow old.”

The Student of the month from Weber High School is Kyland Schow. Is a very kind and considerate young man, always asks how others are doing. He acts like everyone he meets is his best friend, he is kind to everyone he meets.
Bella Pincombe from Orion Junior High School, she is an eighth grader at Orion Jr. High. She enjoys sketching, music, and running. Bella has a personal goal to improve herself and become better in life and at school. She is very empathetic and enjoys helping others and being a good example. Bella would like to go to college to become a surgeon or a vet. Keep up the great work, Bella!
Maci Bench from Montessori Academy. She has been on the Student Council, where she has organized events and projects to improve student morale and the school community. She has been a peer mentor working with younger students, and is a member of HOPE Squad, our student suicide prevention and community building organization. She won first place in the MMA Science Fair last year and participated in the Richey Science Fair at Weber State University. Maci is an accomplished photographer and she is very creative.
Andy Bolingbroke has been working hard on his Eagle Scout project, and has completed it, Congratulations! Andy made a statement “Thank you to those who contributed to my Eagle Scout Project. I completed the installation of two benches on the south side of Shady Lane Park where they have been much used and enjoyed in the last year. I recently received my Eagle Scout Award in August of this year. Thank you for your support, it means a lot to me and our community!”
