Utah Hospitals Receive 2018 HealthInsight Quality Awards

Program Recognizes Excellence in Clinical Quality and Patient Care

Salt Lake City — Ten Utah hospitals have been recognized for their high performance on quality-of-care outcome measures and patient satisfaction. The HealthInsight Quality Award Program recognizes high-performing health care provider organizations in the states for which HealthInsight serves as the Medicare program’s Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) contractor.

Eligibility for the Hospital Quality Award is based on a composite ranking of performance on quality measures reported on Medicare’s Hospital Compare website. Hospitals that rank in the top 25th percentile for the composite score are eligible for a 2018 Quality Award. To see a full description of how the composite score is calculated visit our website: https://healthinsight.org/quality-awards.

The 2018 award recipients are:

·         Bear River Valley Hospital - Tremonton

·         Delta Community Hospital - Delta

·         Intermountain Fillmore Community Hospital - Fillmore

·         Intermountain Logan Regional Hospital - Logan

·         Mckay-Dee Hospital - Ogden

·         TOSH - The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital - Salt Lake City

·         Sevier Valley Hospital - Richfield

·         Uintah Basin Healthcare - Roosevelt

·         University of Utah Health - Salt Lake City

  • Utah Valley Hospital – Provo

“We at HealthInsight are excited to recognize the performance of these hospitals,” said Juliana Preston, HealthInsight Utah executive director. “They are a mix of large and small, urban and rural. The awards celebrate the commitment of hospital leaders and staff to improving patient safety, patient experience and quality of care. This achievement requires dedication to quality and constant concern for the people cared for in these hospitals.”

The HealthInsight Quality Award Program was launched in September 2004 to promote transparency in health care. As defined by the Institute of Medicine, a transparent health care system is “accountable to the public, works openly, makes results known, and builds trust through disclosure.” By using available quality data to identify high-performing providers and publicizing the results, HealthInsight aims to help providers improve health care and help patients become more active and informed participants in their own care.

#5  Americans for the Arts Salary Survey

One of the most common requests Americans for the Arts receives from local arts agencies is for information about salaries and compensation. Administrators, employees, and board members need comparison data to determine salary levels and set equitable pay rates. They provide this information as a service to the entire industry. UCA invites Local Arts Agencies (arts councils, art commissions, etc.) to take the survey:

#6 Ogden Symphony Ballet Survey

The Ogden Symphony Ballet Association has a Strategic Plan Survey open to the public. If you would, take a second to complete the survey @ bit.ly/surveyosba

#7 SLC Receives Grant to retrofit homes for earthquakes

"The risk of the next big earthquake hitting Utah is why the state sponsors the yearly Great Utah ShakeOut. Utah Division of Emergency Management spokesman Joe Dougherty said earlier this year that the reason is to prepare Utahns for the inevitable.

“The thing we really want people to get in their brains is that they (may) be on their own wherever they are for an extended period of time,” he said. “It could be a couple of weeks or more before help arrives in any specific neighborhood.”

Salt Lake residents that qualify for the program are encouraged to call 801-799-3698 or email fixthebricks@slcgov.com."

#8 Salt Lake City Arts Council has open board positions

For Arts Council: they have 5 openings, NEED representation from Council District 7, residents of any district can apply.
