Parents, we know as it gets colder and darker in the morning, it may become a challenge to get your child to school on time. This morning we had 85 students who arrived after the second bell rang at 8:25.
We worry about students missing crucial time in the morning whether it be reviewing information from the day before, working in reading groups, or starting their math lesson.
If you struggle to get your child to school on time, here are afew suggestions:
1- Lay out clothes the night before. This eliminates you and child debating back and forth what he/she will or will not wear to school.
2-Keep shoes and boots in one place. Hunting under the bed, in the toy box, in the family room can be frustrating.
3-Get to bed on time. This helps your child not be so groggy and may eliminate some crankiness you may be experiencing at home.
4-Prepare backpacks and items for school the night before. You don't want to hunt for that book report five minutes before the school day is starting.
5-Plan an extra few minutes to give your child hug and tell him/her to have a great day!
If you are struggling to get your child to school and need some help, we are here to help in any way we can. Don't hesitate to be in touch with us if you need any assistance.
Sincerely,
Ms. Wright
