Cabinet Secretaries Testify On The President’s Proposal For Rebuilding Infrastructure In America
Five Cabinet Secretaries testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation regarding the President’s proposal for Rebuilding Infrastructure in America.
Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue: “The President’s proposal for Rebuilding Infrastructure in America prioritizes responsible and sustainable investment in all our Nation’s infrastructure and forges a path toward prosperity with a growth-oriented package of funds and infrastructure reforms. He envisions a ‘lighter Federal touch’ in funding and permitting for infrastructure, because he entrusts States and communities—not Washington—to make decisions to meet their unique rural needs.”
Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross: “As President Trump has long made clear, our Nation’s infrastructure is crumbling, and we desperately need new and upgraded roads, bridges, highways, railways, and waterways across the country. If the United States is to continue creating jobs, developing a 21st century work force, and growing a strong economy, we must build new infrastructure with ‘American heart, American hands, and American grit.’ First and foremost, the President’s legislative principles for rebuilding infrastructure, delivered to Congress on February 11, 2018, will involve continued elimination of regulatory barriers, streamlined permitting processes, and establishment of a ‘one agency one decision’ concept for infrastructure permit applications.”
Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta: “The President’s bold plan to strengthen our Nation’s infrastructure—including modernizing roads, bridges, tunnels, and airports—presents an important opportunity for Americans to build their career while building a stronger foundation for our Nation. This is a great time to be a job seeker in America. If Congress passes the President’s plan, jobs will be created in communities across our Nation— from Key West, Florida, to Barrow, Alaska. What is so transformative about the President’s plan is it will help strengthen the economy and create jobs in sectors beyond construction, such as hospitality, food service, and retail as infrastructure projects break ground.”
Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao: “Our Nation’s infrastructure is the backbone of our world-class economy—the most productive, flexible, and dynamic in the world. It is a key factor in productivity and economic growth. But as you know, too much of our country’s infrastructure is aging and in need of repair. The challenges are everywhere…. Transportation is just one component, which is why I am joined here today by 4 fellow Cabinet Secretaries. The initiative includes, but is not limited to, drinking and wastewater, energy, broadband and veterans’ hospitals as well. The goal of the President’s proposal is to stimulate at least $1.5 trillion in infrastructure investment, and includes a minimum of $200 billion in direct Federal funding.”
Secretary of Energy Rick Perry: “The President’s plan will help ensure that energy is delivered more reliably, affordably, and more efficiently than ever. As we innovate further and create cleaner energy – we will need the infrastructure to move it in order to benefit the environment as well. In other words, adoption of this plan will help ensure that the benefits of our energy strategy will be felt well into the future. Beyond energy, streamlining permitting and modernizing our infrastructure will combine to revive our Nation at a time when it is sorely needed.”

New York, NY - March 15, 2018 - Le Voyageur, the electronic brainchild of New York City-based rock musician, Alexander Fairchild, has announced the release of the debut album Finally, due out May 11, 2018 on Tooth & Nail Records. The project is a manifestation of Fairchild's love affair with Paul McCartney's Wings, Thom Yorke's Eraser, and his longstanding affection for analog electronics.
In Le Voyageur's first full-length project, humankind has moved past exclusive habitation on Earth and the universe is in chaos. Newly discovered scientific methods, unexplored foreign planets, and ungovernable galactic battles provide the backdrop for Finally, a concept record about one man's quest for redemption.
On the record, Alexander Fairchild shares, "Finally invites us on a sonic journey as our traveler, Le Voyageur, wanders immeasurable landscapes in search of the woman he loves. Each song tests the breadth of the universe and the scope of human emotion."

March 15, 2018- Coral Springs, FL - New Found Glory has maintained their 20-year career by constantly challenging themselves, experimenting with creative videos and musical styles and staying connected to their fans and community. They continue this tradition with the announcement of BreakFEST, a full day music and food festival showcasing breakfast foods, happening on June 24, 2018. The event will be located inside The Factory in Franklin, TN. For more information, please go to http://breakfest.net/.
The festival will feature performances from New Found Glory, Bayside, The Movielife, Hot Rod Circuit, Free Throw, William Ryan Key (formerly of Yellowcard), Daddy Issues, The Dangerous Summer, Cartel (Acoustic with Will Pugh) and Idle Bloom. Additionally, local food vendors like Frothy Monkey, Five Daughters Bakery, Honest Coffee Roasters, Triple Crown Bakery, High Brow and Franklin Juice Co. will be providing delicious food and drinks to BreakFEST guests. On this very special event, New Found Glory Guitarist, Franklin Resident and BreakFest creator Chad Gilbert shares, "I live in a community where new ideas are encouraged and shared. Every person in Franklin offers their own version of interest and passion and it is supported and appreciated by all. The first annual BreakFEST is a contribution to my community and a future I hope to build here in Franklin, Tennessee. Bringing an eclectic line up of national and local punk, indie, and emo bands and everything in between. I believe that fun and different concepts make an experience more memorable. So unlike other music festivals, this one will start at 8 am and is built around the popular theme of breakfast foods! The participating vendors are some of my favorite local breakfast and coffee destinations. Drink coffee, eat a donut, watch your favorite band, make new friends, and be a part of it all."
New Found Glory recently announced a concert to benefit Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in which two band members are alumni. With intimate acoustic sets from friends Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional) and Ryan Key (Yellowcard), this special show will take place at Pompano Beach Amphitheater on May 16, 2018. 100% of the proceeds including ticket sales, concessions, merchandise and sponsorships from this show will be given to The Official Broward Education Foundation Victims Fund. In between these two very special shows, New Found Glory will be kicking off The Sick Tour with support from Bayside, The Movielife, and former Yellowcard vocalist Ryan Key on May 17th in Orlando, FL before wrapping up on June 22nd in Dallas, TX.
