The song comes from the band's forthcoming debut LP, Colours Of You, which consists of ten atmospheric and anthemic songs about love, loss, hope, and happiness. "'Young Guns' is about the warmth and comfort broken kids get from one another and, let's be real, we're all broken," shares vocalist/guitarist Connor Pohl. "I feel like people who don't suffer from mental illness are becoming the minority. Though the media (I even mention television in the opening line!) may dictate what 'normal' is, everyone is better just being themselves and supporting each other in who they are."
Violet Night don't just play their instruments; they use them as tools to carefully construct emotion. Hailing from rural British Columbia, vocalist/guitarist Connor Pohl and keyboardist T.J. Rounthwaite aim to traverse soundscapes as diverse as their province's landscapes. From the soaring heights of mountains to the tranquil beauty of a forest, the sky's the limit with this band's sound and potential.
A recent mainstage appearance at Grizfest and co-headlining B.C. run with The Statistics proved Violet Night's charisma belongs on the stage, as much as their creativity belongs in the studio. Mason Maggio, the band's vocalist and guitarist shares, "shrine is our third full-length album, and thus far it feels like the most complete representation of who we are collectively as artists. Lyrically it's a roughly narrative concept album, drawing inspiration from mythology and folklore, and musically it's the amalgamation of three years' worth of ideas and experimentation - all leading to a cohesive body of work that we're immensely proud of."
The Republic of Wolves, the 5-piece alternative rock band native to Long Island, NY, formed in 2009, and first garnered their popularity solely through social media and word-of-mouth. The band has since then built a widespread fan base with two full-length albums and two EPs, and has shared the stage with noteworthy bands such as The Devil Wears Prada, KOJI, Good Old War, Matchbook Romance, and were previously a featured act on Vans Warped Tour.
