April 18, 2018 - Charlotte, NC - Melodic hardcore legends Hopesfall have announced that they will be playing two special shows this July around the release of their new record, Arbiter. The band will take the stage for the first time since 2011 for Kerrang Presents on July 14th at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, and on July 21st at Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte. General admission tickets go on-sale this Friday, April 20th, with VIP tickets available now at hopesfall.soundrink.com.
Arbiter is the long-awaited follow up to 2007's Magnetic North, and marks the band's first record in over a decade. Fans can check out an exclusive interview, alongside a brand new video for single "H.A. Wallace Space Academy," on Loudwire. Arbiter will be released on July 13th, 2018 via Graphic Nature / Equal Vision Records. Preorders are available now at hopesfall.lnk.to/arbiter.
Hopesfall formed in 1998. Over the next decade, the band would undergo numerous line-up changes but always drew from the same core group of lifelong friends to source new members. The bond between the group was so strong that even after disbanding in 2008, guitarists Joshua Brigham and Dustin Nadler and drummer Adam Morgan continued to get together on Wednesday nights to work on new music despite having no plans to release it. It was during these jam sessions that the music that would eventually find its way onto Arbiter first began to take shape.
In 2012, Brigham and Morgan visited frontman, Jay Forrest, in Chicago culminating in the decision that Forrest would add vocals to the demos. The lineup for the band's reformation would then be cemented in August of 2015 when bassist, Chad Waldrup, joined the group to see Hum and Failure. Still, the idea of putting out new music as Hopesfall wasn't part of the plan. With the lineup complete, the band brought their demos to another trusted collaborator - producer Mike Watts (Glassjaw, Dillinger Escape Plan, O'Brother) whom they had worked with on two previous releases, Magnetic North and A Types. It was Watts who brought the demos to Dan Sandshaw and Will Putney of Graphic Nature / Equal Vision Records where the idea of releasing it as a Hopesfall record was finally discussed. A testament to the band's hard-earned legacy, the famed label immediately jumped on the opportunity to release the project.
Arbiter has a decidedly unique bend to it, but Brigham points out that it is built off of the same principles as Hopesfall's previous catalog - "big riffs and dark melodies." Forrest adds that the driving message of Arbiter remains the same as well: "Hopes fall. Tragedies happen. But that doesn't mean you should give up or not stay the course."
Arbiter is set for release on July 13th via Graphic Nature / Equal Vision Records. It is at once a reminder of why the band has become so influential and a beacon of the its continued evolution. Look for Hopesfall to support the release with select tour dates later this year.

Raleigh, NC - April 18, 2018 - Rock band Big Something will be releasing their 5th studio album The Otherside this Friday, April 20th, and is thrilled to share an advance stream with fans now via Relix. The Otherside is a follow up to 2017's Tumbleweed, the band's most critically acclaimed release to date. Big Something will celebrate the release with a 2 night performance at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, NC during their event The Big What? Wilmington on April 27 & 28. "This album is special for us in many ways. It felt like we were capturing an important moment together as a band and as brothers," shares vocalist/guitarist Nick MacDaniels. "We also wanted to pay homage to the original concept of making "an album" where sitting down and listening to the whole thing is an experience - 20 minutes per side with a break between and each side complements the other. This is the first time we've setup a release to fit perfectly on a vinyl record like that."
Bassist Doug Marshall adds: "The recording felt effortless. There was a certain vibe in the air. It felt like everything took a big jump. In the songwriting and the performance. Everyone went to the next level. I'm very proud to have been a part of this album."
A 6 piece powerhouse with a sound that is both unique and timeless, Big Something fuses elements of rock, pop, funk, and improvisation to take listeners on a journey through a myriad of musical styles. It's no secret why this group has quickly become one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from the Southeast. Soaring guitars, E.W.I. (electronic wind instrument), synths, horns and alluring vocal hooks rise to the top of their infectious collection of songs and represent a sound that has caught the ears of such revered stalwarts as Umphrey's McGee, Moon Taxi, Galactic, moe., Robert Randolph, and even The B52s, who have all tapped Big Something as direct support.
The Otherside was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC with the help of Grammy-nominated producer and Carolina Music Awards Lifetime Achievement recipient - John Custer (Corrosion of Conformity) who has produced all 5 of the bands albums.
On The Otherside, Big Something continues to build upon the post-apocalyptic peyote trip imagery from Tumbleweed, concluding the story of a nomad who has made it to the other side of his journey wandering through the night towards a desert sunrise. The album also showcases a different musical side of the band with a heavier, more focused and soulful collection of 8 songs including "Smoke Signal" - a track that was written for the studio and has never been performed live.
The project is dedicated to the memory of the bands late lyricist and friend Paul Interdonato who tragically passed away on Dec 3, 2017 - the same day the band was setting up in the studio to record. Now each song carries a certain weight as the album features several of the last lyrical compositions that Paul ever wrote for Big Something. It is a thoughtful and poignant musical journey paying tribute to a lifelong friend with a brilliant imagination.
Big Something is Nick MacDaniels (vocals, guitar), Casey Cranford (sax, EWI), Jesse Hensley (lead guitar), Ben Vinograd (drums), Doug Marshall (bass), Josh Kagel (keys, trumpet), and Rhett Huffman (keys).

This afternoon, Senator Marco Rubio announced that Heritage Action’s CEO Mike Needham would serve as his new chief of staff.
Starting with the “Opportunity for All” push, Heritage Action sought to revitalize the conservative agenda to address the challenges facing Americans in the 21st century. Senator Rubio has been engaging in a parallel effort on Capitol Hill.
Senator Rubio told the New York Times, “I think the challenge is how the policies that come from those principles, by necessity, have to look different in the 21st century than they did in 1980 or 1985.”
Mike added: “Any fair-minded observer of the last several years would say conservatives have work to do in order to assure our principles remain relevant… Our challenge as conservatives is to build a movement that inspires a majority coalition of Americans.”
Thanks for all you have done, and will continue to do, in the fight to advance conservative policies in Washington.
