"If you take one listen, you will find yourself either tapping along or keeping up with
the perfectly placed whistling in the chorus." - Substream Magazine
April 30, 2018 - Los Angeles, CA - Power pop band Tiny Stills is thrilled to share their bright and infectious new single, "When I'm With You," premiering now on Atwood Magazine. The song is the latest from Tiny Stills' forthcoming sophomore album, Laughing Into the Void, which is set to be released on June 1st, 2018. Laughing Into the Void is full of brutal honesty, crunchy guitars, and catchy melodies that help you remember that even the worst days have a silver lining: at least you're not alone. "I wanted to write a song that captured the excitement of a new relationship when everyday activities feel special, and you feel invincible," shares front-woman Kailynn Stills. "I wrote it to send to a guy I had crush on, that later turned into a relationship, and then we got married. It's a disgustingly cute story and I originally only planned on playing this song for him, but it came from such a genuine place of happiness that I wanted to put it on the new record. I think its a feeling a lot of people can relate to."
Tiny Stills is a power pop band from Los Angeles influenced by Courtney Barnett, That Dog, and 90s/00s rock. Their first album, Falling is like Flying was released in 2014 and was a direct response to the isolation and anxiety that comes from life changing events after front-person and founding member Kailynn West was held up at gunpoint. It's upbeat and pop-y melodies were born from a desire to make something that felt and sounded nothing like the she felt at the time - happy. Since then, West has been the nucleus of the project with a rotating cast of band members, but most recent lineup includes Harry Foster (bass), Zach Comtois (guitar), and Tony Thaxton (drums).
After a last-minute lineup change left an opening on a national tour with Bayside's Anthony Raneri and A.W. in 2015, West stepped in at the last minute to complete the tour as Tiny Stills. She sold thank you cards with download links as merchandise after selling out of physical copies of the first record; from there, the project hit the ground running.
Tiny Stills will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Laughing Into the Void, on June 1st, 2018. They'll be celebrating with a hometown album release show on May 31st at The Hi Hat in Los Angeles. For a full list of upcoming tour dates, please see below or visit www.tinystills.com.

crowd and new musical ears." - Glide Magazine

Baltimore, MD - May 1, 2018 - Two months after launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund their forthcoming third album, Strange Creatures, brass rock band Stacked Like Pancakes is celebrating reaching their goal of $100,000. The campaign concluded over the weekend with 869 backers and over $101.6k, which will be used for the recording, mixing, mastering, production, and distribution of the new record. The band celebrated Sunday night with friends and family at a hometown show at The Ottobar in Baltimore, concluding their month-long U.S. headline tour.
On reaching their goal, the band shares: "It was hard to see the big picture while we were in the thick of the crowdfunding, but what we've accomplished with the Pancake Nation is truly extraordinary. We are so grateful for our passionate fans and supporters and we can't wait to record and release your new album, STRANGE CREATURES!"
Stacked Like Pancakes gave fans a taste of the new record back in February with their latest single, "Hollow," which was produced by Matt Squire (Kesha, Demi Lovato, Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Panic! at the Disco). The band will be returning to the studio with Squire later this year to complete Strange Creatures.
Beginning in 2007, Stacked Like Pancakes was founded on an idolization of artists like Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, and Less Than Jake. Following the 2011 debut ska album We're Not Insane, Stacked Like Pancakes and renaissance frontman-songwriter Kellen McKay began to develop an obsession with breaking genre boundaries. The band has since proven to maintain a thick sonic texture through a synthesis of inspirations including Reel Big Fish, twenty one pilots, Foo Fighters, Paramore, Cage the Elephant, and an untraceable amount of other artists and genres.
Stacked Like Pancakes found their niche in music festivals in 2012, supporting Kid Cudi at Towson University's Tigerfest. In 2014, SLP won the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition, earning their first appearance on the Vans Warped Tour. When they were invited to return in 2015, the Warped Tour sparked a love for the road. In March 2017, Stacked Like Pancakes was a featured artist for the Vans Warped Tour, performing alongside Bless the Fall, Memphis May Fire, Jule Vera, and Microwave at the official Warped Tour Kickoff Party in Orlando, Florida. During this stretch of time, they embarked on several self-booked headlining tours, a national tour supporting ska-parallels Reel Big Fish, and in 2015 released their fan-funded sophomore album THIS IS US.
Recently Stacked Like Pancakes released a brand new song and video, "45," which premiered exclusively via Alternative Press one year after the most controversial election in our nation's history. Inspired by Donald Trump, "45" is a song of defiance, hope, and humor in a time when we desperately need all three.
2018 promises to be a big year for Stacked Like Pancakes, a band that epitomizes a tough DIY work ethic despite a meaningless band name, and they are rightfully on the rise to claim an international stage of their own.

4 Ways Students Can Parlay Internships
Into Jobs Soon After Graduation
The job market appears a bit more promising for soon-to-be college graduates than it has been for most of this decade.
Just four years ago, CNN Money reported that 260,000 college grads held minimum-wage jobs. Barely 25 percent had a job related to their college major. But this year, the National Association of Colleges and Employers projects, U.S. companies will hire 4 percent more new college graduates than they did from the Class of 2017.
Yet with more optimistic employment prospects, there’s still stiff competition for those first “real” jobs. Who stands the best chance of getting them?
Several studies show that college internships make a significant difference. According to Gallup, for example, recent graduates who had an internship in college were more than twice as likely to be hired for a good, career-related job immediately after graduation.
“The solution for college students is to increase job experience while still in school, and that means obtaining a hands-on internship every summer while in college,” says Matthew Stewart, co-founder of College Works Painting (www.collegeworks.com), which provides business experience for thousands of college students each year.
“Unless you graduate college with a significant amount of real-world job experience, finding a job will be incredibly difficult.”
Stewart gives college students four tips on maximizing their college internship in order to improve their post-grad job prospects:
• Find an internship that challenges you. An internship experience that will be meaningful on a resume should make demands of the student, Stewart says. Ideally, they’re getting a preview of their chosen profession and an idea of the skills they’ll need to succeed. “College students should be looking for experiences that will challenge them,” Stewart says. “When they get out of school they will be competing with thousands of other graduates. They need to ask themselves, ‘Will the internship offer real experience that will separate me from my peers?’"
• Treat your internship like a career. “The easiest way to treat your student job like a career is to ask your boss to mentor you,” Stewart says. “Under the mentorship of your supervisor, you can expand your basic job functions.”
• Be proactive, take initiative. Going above and beyond in your internship will set the foundation for your career. “You’ll gain confidence by taking initiative, which is a core skill in the business world,” Stewart says. “It’s important to set goals and have a plan of action around those goals.”
• Seek promotion opportunities. “Again, the mentor factor comes in,” Stewart says. “Build a strong relationship with your mentor, and let him or her know you are eager for more responsibility and that you’re up for the challenge. Always check the company job board.”
“College is not the time to relax,” Stewart says. “You need to treat college and an internship seriously; it’s your future. College consists of three summers of internships,
and by the fourth summer students should have what it takes to find a career.”
