Justin Shinsel Employee of the month, great job Justin!!!

Justin Shinsel, Public Works Inspector, has been chosen for the Employee of the Month. Justin has been with the City since 2014, starting out in the Water Department and promoted to the position he currently holds. He is responsible for making sure all the utilities are installed properly and maintains a great working relationship with all the contractors working in the City. Justin works well with everyone in Public Works to make sure that all the infrastructure is running properly. We are lucky to have such a dedicated employee.

The skate park will be closed May 23rd to May 31st for maintenance. The contractor that built it will be coming out to do touch up work and finish that paint that was not completed last winter.

Washington Blvd / 2550 N

The North West Corner - by Walgreens: the light pole will be moved north approximately 8 feet allowing the radius of the corner to be improved. This will make a right turn onto 2550 from South Washington much more gradual and natural. It will also provide some additional lane width.

Striping: Both east and west left turn lanes on 2550 will return to being dedicated left turn lanes. The right lanes will return to being straight through/right turn lanes.

Signal lights: We are still working with and encouraging UDOT to install protected left turn signaling both east and west bound on 2550.

We believe we can have this done by the time Maverick opens. That is the goal!

Special note: Contrary to Google Map’s indication - there will be no OB/GYN medical facilities in the middle of the intersection!

Our neighbors in Pleasant View are celebrating Founders Day, we’ve included information to the festivities that will be held.

Progress and change is never easy, particularly in some of our area’s long-established neighborhoods, but we agree with District Judge Noel Hyde’s Tuesday decision that work on the new Barker Park amphitheater in North Ogden should proceed unhindered.

Hyde ruled this week that three homeowners that live near Barker Park did not have standing to be granted a temporary injunction halting construction of the new amphitheater, which is set to be debuted on July 4 during North Ogden’s Cherry Days festivities. The town has a concert and fireworks planned for the event to unveil the new structure.

School is just about over for the 2017-18 year, with that we need to be even more cautious with more kids out walking, riding and playing in the neighborhoods. Please take an extra minute to walk all the way around your vehicle looking for toys and children. Even if you don’t have kids yourself, children just don’t see the danger getting a ball out from under the car without help.

It is motorcycle riding time, with all the recent motorcycle deaths and accidents, we all need to be more aware of our driving habits. NO Distracted DRIVING, put the phone down. Look, Listen, Look Again!!! Nobody wants to be the one to hit someone riding a motorcycle, bike, person or even another vehicle. We are heading into the 100 most dangerous days, PLEASE leave early and be hyper vigilant in driving and being aware what’s going on around us.

Important Announcements from UDOT - Hwy 89 and 750 North Project – In neighboring Willard/ Hwy 89

This project is actually in Willard where you turn to go to the bay or get on the freeway. With all the accidents that have been involved with this intersection UDOT has a project planned to install a stoplight and turning lanes at 750 North and Hwy 89 in 2018. They will also be resurfacing Hwy 89. The final engineering is being completed and the project will be put out for bid.  We are fast approaching road construction season all over!!!! Please use caution around construction and SLOW DOWN for the safety of construction workers.
