Jon Adams is running for one of the open seats for Box Elder County Commissioner, and he is asking for your support. Jon has the experience, desire and time to devote to ensure public input is vital when decisions are being made. His great desire is for these decisions to truly be in the best interest of the Box Elder County residents.
Adam’s political view is considered conservative with a strong belief in the role government is required to play in meeting the ever-growing needs facing citizens. In addition, the accountability the government has in facing those needs.
Having had a career spanning over forty-five years serving the public, Adams has established contacts and working relationships with various local, state and federal agencies. For example, the Department of Environmental Quality and its divisions, State Auditor’s Office, Agriculture and Wildlife, USEPA and other members of the federal family.
Adams has had experience working with several citizen advocacy groups and organizations. He has built up knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements and was involved in the legislative process. He has had the opportunity to serve on several boards and task forces throughout the years while addressing a myriad of issues. Specifically, he has served at the national level as a board member for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies representing Region VIII.
After graduating from high school, Jon attended BYU majoring in Law Enforcement with a minor in Political Science. He also received a degree from UVU in Environmental Technology focusing on water and wastewater treatment.
Recently, he retired after managing water and waste water utilities for Brigham City, Salt Lake City Public Utilities and until recently, serving as District Manager for the Timpanogos Special Service District lending services for 10 Utah communities.
On a personal note, Jon is married to Connie George and together they have eight children.
