"The record fans have been waiting for -- literally and figuratively." - Billboard

Bradenton, FL - June 21, 2018 - Rock band We The Kings have announced their forthcoming album, Six, which will be released on July 6th, 2018 via S-Curve Records/BMG. Fans received their first taste of the record yesterday via the exclusive premiere of lead single "On My Love" on Billboard. Pre-orders are available now and include an instant grat download of the track - for more information, please visit: smarturl.it/WTKSIXPreorder.

On the new album, front-man Travis Clark shares: "Our 6th album, appropriately titled "SIX," is the record our fans have been waiting for from We The Kings. The double meaning behind "SIX" lies within our fans for being the 6th member of WTK."

When naming their new album, We The Kings set out to check a few boxes. Not only does Six represent the Florida-based band's sixth full-length album (all of which, from their 2007 Self-Titled through 2015's Strange Love, begin with the letter S), but it also pays tribute to the quintet's honorary sixth member: their fans.

As such, the artwork of Six literally features a piece of their fans, a mosaic of those who helped crowdfund the album. It's a testament to an audience who have rallied behind We The Kings for their entire career-to the tune of more than 250 million Spotify streams and platinum-selling success.

"There's a pride that fans have about their favorite bands that I think is so special," frontman Travis Clark says. "These fans have been supporting us for more than a decade. When we're writing songs, we don't want to let anyone down."

Indeed, We The Kings' storied career has been marked by a deep reciprocity between the band and their fans. When the group-Clark, Hunter Thomsen (guitar), Danny Duncan (drums), Charles Trippy (bass) and Coley O'Toole (keyboard, guitar)-broke out of Bradenton, Florida in 2007 with "Check Yes Juliet," one of the most iconic songs of the late '00s pop-punk movement, millions of listeners around the world instantly fell in love with their buoyant spirit and emotionally poignant songwriting.

Follow-up singles like "Heaven Can Wait," "We'll Be A Dream," "Say You Like Me" and "Sad Song" kept We The Kings squarely in the mainstream, but as they readied Six, the band dug deep into the past to find inspiration from their earliest days. Their 10-year anniversary tour for Self-Titled sold out venues around the world in 2017, and it gave We The Kings a renewed sense of energy as they prepped new music.

Indeed, there are plenty of throwback moments on Six, but maybe not in the way fans would expect. Rather than retread where they came from, the band's nods to their past are more nuanced, finely filtered through a modern lens that affords them the freedom to expand their sound in all directions and continually redefine just what a We The Kings song should sound like.

At its core, Six's true triumph is its emotional heft. So much has changed for We The Kings since Strange Love-marriage, childbirth, death-and the album's 11 songs are a tribute to life's moments, both big and small, and how you never know which is which until much later down the line.

Six is the 6th studio album from We The Kings, and will be released on July 6th, 2018. Pre-orders are available now at {INSERT LINK}.

Rome Hero Foxes

Premieres New Single

"18 Summers" via The Noise

Sophomore Album

18 Summers

To Be Released July 27th, 2018

June 19, 2018 - Houston, TX - Houston quintet Rome Hero Foxes is thrilled to share "18 Summers," the title track from the band's forthcoming sophomore album. Fans can stream the song, which boasts driving melodies and beachy guitar riffs, now on The Noise. 18 Summers will be released on July 27th, 2018. For more information, please visit: romeherofoxes.com

"'18 Summers' was the last track written from the album and it was the missing piece that tied it all together," the band shares. "It summarizes the concept with its abrupt beginning, quickly running through a timeline of events that caused summers, growth, and mistakes to repeat to no end where the same question still remains. Am I not cool enough for you?"

Rome Hero Foxes named their sophomore LP 18 Summers, but it more accurately describes the band's beginnings. Shortly after graduating high school, the quintet was discovered in 2016 by Dance Gavin Dance's Kurt Travis and released For When You're Falling Backwards. As far as debuts go, its expanse melded the urgency of post-hardcore with an inward gaze offsetting any chaos. That introspection, bent over swirling guitars and mesmerizing vocal lines, led to reinvention. Instead of baring their teeth through arrangements that spiraled and warped, the band took a self-imposed journey into simpler territory. A pair of twin EPs, I/O and Horoscope, reset Rome Hero Foxes as a group indebted to surf rock and indie pop instead of gnarlier waves, with the latter predicting their shimmering follow-up. Enter the real 18 Summers.

"During this time of writing all of this material, it made me envision all these songs as this sort of time capsule-like void or world where time is slow but life keeps moving faster," vocalist and rhythm guitarist CJ Burton explains. With that definition in mind, it's easy to understand the varied warmth and speeds put to tape here. "Seattle Queen," with Andrew Hagan's percolating keyboards leading the way, places love's angled complexities behind a slice of bubblegum pop. "Chest Piece" splits its pathway between R&B schmaltz and vaulted pop-punk. Other fare, like the Black Mirror nod "San Junipero," heighten interpersonal highs to infectious, but experimental highs. It's the only track that reminds listeners of the band's darker roots, with flecks of mathy guitar flanking verses. This album is as concerned with love as it is with its absence in the face of growing older and growing apart.

18 Summers enters like a dream - abrupt and disorienting - before adjusting to this new state with enthusiasm. This eternal sunshine captures a world where time is relative: sit back, relax, and dive in. Because here, love reigns supreme.

Rome Hero Foxes is CJ Burton (vocals, guitar), Andrew Hagan (vocals, keys), Michael Fox (guitar), Emilio Garcia-Caro (bass), and Adrian Romero (drums).

COUNTDOWN TO CER’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY SUMMIT… it may seem early, but October will be here before you know it, so make your plans now to join CER on October 25-26 in Miami for its Silver Anniversary Summit & Celebration “The Road to Innovation for ONE America.” One of the features of the gathering will be our honoring of some of the pioneers of the education reform movement who will be on hand for the event, including Tommy Thompson. As Wisconsin’s governor (from 1987-2001) Thompson was one of first high-profile champions of education reform pushing for the creation of the country's first parental school-choice program, which provided Milwaukee families with a voucher to send children to the private or public school of their choice. He did other great things as governor, too (e.g. welfare reform), and went on to build a remarkable career of public service, including a stint as Secretary of Health and Human Services under George W. Bush, but he’ll always be tops in our book for his commitment to, and success in, achieving substantive education reform.

MEANWHILE BACK AT THE RANCH… Last Sunday night NBC News aired a charter school story that argues charters are increasingly geared to support “white flight.” If the claims weren’t so outlandish and unfounded, it would be laughable. The producer, who was incredibly open to receiving information countering these allegations, based his report on an analysis performed by the Hechinger Report. In one of the documents CER supplied, we demonstrated Hechinger’s bias against charter schools, as well as the folly of the argument. Read more…

A DOUBLE DOSE OF REALITY… This week Jeanne Allen interviewed Erica Komisar, author of “Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters.” Based on more than two decades of clinical work and breakthrough neurobiological research on caregiving, attachment and brain development, her book challenges established concepts (and myths) of infant resiliency, ‘having it all’ and even the definition of feminism. One thing this book is not about is quitting your job. “It’s not about working vs. not working – it’s really a book about more is more.” Also on Reality Check, an attorney for Mark Janus from the Liberty Justice Center shares his thoughts on the likely outcome of the high court’s pending decision.

Find the podcasts at edreform.com/realitycheck and on National Review.

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS… Just as the AFT and NEA are bracing for the ruling from SCOTUS in the Janus v. AFSCME case, teachers in New York state have filed a class-action suit claiming (correctly, we might add) that they are being illegally forced to cough up union dues even if they’re not union members. This is in response to NY’s new law, signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo last April, mandating that all teachers pay a New York State United Teachers “agency fee” regardless of their membership status. Supporters say all teachers benefit from pay hikes and perks secured by the union and should subsidize those efforts. In a suit filed Thursday the two teachers who brought the case say (correctly, we might add) that they oppose “NYSUT’s political advocacy and collective bargaining activities” and shouldn’t have to fund them. Yep.

In Other News…

MORE THAN REASONABLE… The Reason Foundation has put out a great piece on school funding. Although titled “Five Recommendations to Solve LAUSD’s Looming Fiscal Crisis” its applicable, in parts or in whole, to school funding crises around the country and is worth the read.

SUNSHINE STATE SUCCESS… Former Florida Senate Education Chairman, John Legg, recently summed up Florida’s great, new K-12 scholarship program. “… [it] is conceptually reminiscent of the free tutoring programs developed by bipartisan education advocates under the federal No Child Left Behind Act. This scholarship is driven by the educational principle that children must learn to read so they can then read to learn.”  Notably the program doesn’t try to simply thread more money into district elementary reading budgets but instead provides a reading scholarship, which gives parents the decision on how to spend it. And why is that a better approach, Legg was asked: “The parent is the most influential person in the child’s life.”

A PROGRESSIVE POINT OF VIEW… Also of note this week, a passionate op-ed on educational opportunity for all, titled “Progressive, affluent parents who send their kids to good schools shouldn’t deny others that right.” An excerpt: “Simply put, I’m a progressive. So it troubles me deeply to hear self-styled progressives attack educational options that other parents choose for their children. Worse, these attacks on the educational choices that lower-income parents and parents of children with special needs make almost always come from progressives of higher means. We have a recommendation for that: Check your privilege. I support educational choice for all. Educational options have existed for the wealthy for as long as anyone can remember. What’s controversial is when we suggest that those same options should be open to everyone.” Amen.

Don't forget! Meet us in Miami Oct. 25-26 for our Silver Anniversary Summit + Celebration. More info at edreform.com.

Hemp, Inc. Signs Contract with HQ Global Education, Inc. to Plant 25 Acres of Hemp

Spring Hope, NC - (NewMediaWire) - June 14, 2018 -  Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), a global leader in the industrial hemp industry with the largest multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in the western hemisphere, announced today that Hemp, Inc. has signed a contract with HQ Global Education, Inc. (OTC:HQGE) to plant 25 acres of industrial hemp. The hemp, to be planted this month, will be grown and cultivated on land operated by Hemp, Inc. and is expected to yield 4,000 pounds of hemp per acre or a total 100,000 pounds of high cannabidiol (CBD) hemp biomass.  This is the first step in the collaboration between HQGE and Hemp, Inc. to grow premium hemp for the purpose of developing high quality CBD isolates and/or distillates and/or hemp-related products for Business-to-Business and possible Business-to-Consumer marketing.

Due to an increase of demand for high-quality CBD and hemp-related products, HQGE executives plan to contract a minimum of another 25 acres with Hemp, Inc. after the successful planting of the first 25 acres. This initial cultivation of hemp will be processed using Hemp,
Inc.'s NuAxon Tech CO2 Supercritical Extractor which is housed in Hemp, Inc.'s 85,000-square foot facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina. Planting is expected to occur before the end of the month and should be ready for harvest by late August/early September 2018. The CBD extraction will begin immediately upon the harvesting and drying of the fully mature hemp harvest.

HQGE and Hemp, Inc. (OTC:HEMP) announced in March that they would be creating a joint venture between the two companies, in which HQGE will produce and distribute high-end, hemp-rich and highly customizable CBD formulas for the CBD industry using Hemp, Inc.'s NuAxon Tech CO2 Supercritical Extractor. Hemp, Inc. is also providing ongoing consulting services in the hemp-CBD market, specifically in the areas of growing high-quality organically-grown CBD-rich hemp, and harvesting, extracting and creating a variety of high-end CBD products.

"We look forward to furthering our relationship with HQGE as they expand their footprint in the hemp CBD market," said Hemp, Inc. CEO Bruce Perlowin. "The CBD industry in the United States has enormous growth potential, especially as more states continue to legalize hemp and the proposed bill to legalize hemp at the federal level continues to gain bipartisan support."
Dozens of master growers, from Oregon, Colorado, California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Nevada and, of course, Arizona, companies and organizations have also expressed an interest in pursuing a joint venture with Hemp, Inc. to each grow industrial hemp on the 300 fenced acres in Arizona as part of "The Great United American Hemp Project." Interested master growers, from around the country, should contact Project Manager, Dwight Jory at ecogold22@gmail.com.
Read the following October 24, 2017 press release, Hemp, Inc. Announces Strategic Hemp Growing Partner "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc." Completes Final Site Plan Blueprints, below:

Hemp, Inc. has announced that its strategic growing partner, "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.," has completed its final site plan blueprints for its 500-acre site in Golden Valley, Arizona (20 miles north of Kingman, AZ and 90 minutes from Las Vegas, NV). The site plan was submitted to the Mohave County Building Department for final review. The Company is also in the final stages of completing the necessary infrastructure to support an off-grid, renewable, energy system. With the solar equipment in place, the site's solar power operation is now complete.

Dwight Jory, the Project Manager for the "Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.," said, "We are very happy with the progress. Our Kins Community is really beginning to come together." In anticipation of planting to begin during the spring, 300 acres have been fenced, 16 overnight trailer park sites are under construction, and six 40x40-ft organic vegetable gardens are ready for seasonal planting, according to Jory. As for the 6 geodesic domes mentioned in an earlier press release, 1 is structurally complete with only the electrical and plumbing to be completed. The rest are on site awaiting final site plan approval. "We are now accepting volunteers who have expressed an interest in helping to build the first Kins Community for our veterans," said Jory. Those interested in making the first hemp growing CBD-producing "Veteran Village Kins Community" become a reality should contact Ms. Sandra Williams via email (swilliams@hempinc.com).

One thousand trees, on 36 of the 500-acres, have also been planted, with an additional 1,000 trees on order. The "Veteran Village Kins Community" site plan also includes a 100,000-square foot GMP compliant, central processing plant, CBD testing laboratory, and various health and wellness centers to support veterans who may have psychological, emotional or health issues.

"As Hemp, Inc. positions itself on the forefront of America's industrial hemp revolution, we see our partnership with 'Veteran Village Kins Community Arizona, Inc.' being paramount in supporting the small family farm movement that we are confident will reshape the American landscape," said Perlowin. "As we work toward getting our eco-village up and running in Arizona, we are also aggressively scouting strategic locations in other states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia. Giving veterans and other Americans a place to learn new skills and take part in this multi-billion-dollar hemp CBD market is very exciting. It's a big part of our mission to give back."

According to Perlowin, seven "master hemp growers" from Oregon, Colorado, California, Kentucky, North Carolina, Nevada and, of course, Arizona have expressed an interest in pursuing a joint venture with Hemp, Inc. to each grow industrial hemp on the 300 fenced acres in Arizona. Perlowin says he'll call this "The Great United American Hemp Project."
