New House Member Sworn in
Salt Lake City – Today, the Utah House of Representatives welcomes the newest House member Marsha Judkins. The Utah County Republicans selected Rep. Judkins to fill the vacancy in District 61, after former Rep. Keith Grover, whose term would have ended in December, filled the vacant seat in the Senate. She was appointed by Governor Gary Herbert on Tuesday, July 17 and sworn in by the chief clerk of the House on July 18, 2018.
“We're excited to welcome Rep. Judkins to the House,” said Speaker Greg Hughes. “She hit the ground running doing the work of the people after being sworn in this morning.”
Rep. Judkins was assigned to the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee, Public Utilities, Energy, and Technology Interim Committee and Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee. She attended July interim meetings and will participate in the Second Special Session of the 62nd Legislature.
Judkins is a former Provo School Board member and currently teaches part-time in the Developmental Math Department at Utah Valley University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Mathematics and Masters in Public Administration from Brigham Young University. Judkins and her husband have seven children and 12 grandchildren.

UNITED UTAH PARTY NOMINATES TIM ZEIDNER IN THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
Zeidner wins nomination in the UUP’s first contested race
PROVO, UT – Last night, at the Provo City Library, the United Utah Party gathered to nominate a replacement for Melanie McCoard, who was stepping down as the UUP candidate for US Congress in the Third Congressional District due to health concerns.
“This was our first contested race,” said Richard Davis, the United Utah Party Chair. “Three fine candidates stepped forward, and Tim Zeidner won on the first ballot.”
“I’m thrilled to be in this race and help move this party forward,” Zeidner said. “The principles of the United Utah Party represent the majority of the people of Utah, and its only a matter of times before we reach critical mass.”
Zeidner serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation at the Provo Missionary Training Center for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Annalee, are the parents of five children.

Author Nanette Allen aims to acquaint children to Bible stories told in rhymes
OGDEN, Utah – Nanette Allen admits that as a child, she was always bored in church. She also sees that not many children are familiar with Bible stories. These two reasons prompted her to write a book for children – one that they can read and have fun with in church.
In her debut book, “If You Were God” (published by Xlibris), Allen sheds light on the beginning of creation and the story of Adam and Eve. Taken straight from the Bible, the story is told in rhymes for young readers to enjoy and grasp with ease.
Combining fun illustrations and rhyming verses, “If You Were God” is geared towards children of ages 4 to 8. In here, the author prompts them to answer the question, “If you were God, what would you do?”
A snippet from the book:
This story has been told through the ages of time.
I didn’t write it I just made it rhyme.
It’ a little sad but true.
If you were God what would you do?
