EVAN McMULLIN’S CAMPAIGN MANAGER JOINS ERIC ELIASON’S CAMPAIGN
Joel Searby to consult for United Utah Party candidate in the First Congressional District
Joel Searby, former campaign manager for presidential candidate Evan McMullin, has joined Eric Eliason’s congressional campaign as a senior advisor.
“Eric Eliason is exactly the kind of public servant we need in America right now,” Searby said. “He is in this for all the right reasons and advancing all the right principles that can bring us together instead of tear us apart.” Searby, who is engaged in several senatorial and gubernatorial campaigns, added, " I have found Eric to be the most credible and serious congressional candidate in the country who is not from one of the major parties."
According to the latest FEC filings, Eric Eliason has $194,503 cash on hand, making him the best-financed opponent to incumbent Rob Bishop.
Eliason expressed confidence in Searby’s ability to navigate the unique dynamics of the race in the First District.
“Joel is currently working with both seated and new independent candidates,” Eliason said. “I’m thrilled to have his expertise in moving this campaign forward.”
Searby also reflected on his own experience in 2016 and how it prepared him to help Eliason’s campaign.
“Serving as Evan McMullin’s senior strategist and campaign manager was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” Searby said. “It was also one of the hardest. We made plenty of mistakes and took lots of heat. But I’m proud of what we did to lay the groundwork for amazing candidates like Eric who can run outside the two-party system and give the voters of Utah a truly different choice that they can be proud of.”
