"...they're following in the footsteps of other Scottish rock crossovers
with heavy sounds but inviting hooks-aided by singer Ross Leighton's ability
to soar over a busy chorus." - WIRED
August 30th, 2018 - Scotland - Rock band Fatherson have premiered their brand new live video, "Reflection," via Clash Magazine. Fans can watch it now at youtu.be/gu91hsMDVFE, or stream the album version at ffm.to/sumofallyourparts. The song is the latest from the band's forthcoming album, Sum Of All You Parts, which has recently been featured on Billboard, Alternative Press, PopMatters, and more. Sum Of All Your Parts, Fatherson's third full-length album, drops on September 14th and is available for pre-order at smarturl.it/SumOfAllYourParts.
Fatherson have traditionally been a word of mouth band. Attend any of their shows and you will find a room echo with lyrics being sung back en masse by adoring fans. The devotion of their fans saw the last album jump straight in at No. 2 in the Scottish album charts as well as performing strongly in the U.K. Other highlights include packing a 12,000 person tent at T in the Park and playing with Kings of Leon in Vienna.
The band have established themselves as a potent live force, having sold out Glasgow's Barrowlands as well as London's Scala on their previous run of dates. Together with blistering shows and a rabid fanbase Fatherson operate in a distinctly Scottish plane of sentimentally - it is no coincidence they have previously toured with the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Biffy Clyro and Idlewild.
The band recently announced their new album Sum Of All Your Parts with the release of "Making Waves" - a song indicative of what to expect from the next FathersonLP. According to Ross Leighton (guitar/vocals), the song "defined how the album would sound" as well as being a "heart on your sleeve slacker tune with a tonne of groove." The single does mark a change of direction for the band - the rousing and anthemic choruses remain but there is a newfound edge best summed up in the stunning video for "Making Waves."
Marc Strain (bass) goes further when contemplating the shift in band's sound: "As a band we're always going to have "rocky" songs but Rock music can be very formulaic and boring. We didn't want this record to just be a carbon copy of Open Book or I Am An Island. Making Waves was the song that made us rethink our process and start to get really excited about this new album."

Three Health Professionals from Utah Deploy to Provide Medical Support During Lying-in State of Senator McCain in Washington, DC
Anesthesiologist Steven Bott from Salt Lake City, Paramedic Laina Roundy from Bountiful, and Paramedic Marnieta Wilson from Cleveland deployed to Washington, DC, to provide medical support during the lying-in state of Senator John McCain on Friday, August 31, in the United States Capitol. All three health care providers serve as members of the National Disaster Medical System’s (NDMS) Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT).
During the time the public pays their respects, NDMS personnel along with U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps officers stand ready to provide advanced life support and basic medical care to the thousands of people from around the nation attending the event.
NDMS is a federally administered program that can support communities with medical care, veterinarian care, and mortuary assistance during disasters or public health emergencies. NDMS is among the resources made available by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). They also work behind the scenes at some of our nation’s biggest events, often at the request of the Office of the Attending Physician and the U.S. Capitol Police.
“Typically at events like this we see people who have minor cuts or sprains or other non-life threatening injuries/illness,” explains Ron Miller, acting director of ASPR’s NDMS. “However, we also have provided initial life-saving care for more serious injuries or illnesses and stabilized patients for transportation by DC Fire/EMS to a local hospital.”
NDMS teams consist of physicians, nurses, paramedics, fatality management professionals, and experienced command and control staff. There are more than 6,000 team members organized in to 70 response teams. Providing medical care during emergencies and special events, such as the Senator McCain’s lying-in state, can overwhelm local and state resources. ASPR looks to the expertise within NDMS and USPHS from across the country to assist in the response.
Senator John McCain’s body will lie in state in the rotunda of the United States Capitol in Washington, DC, on Friday, August 31. On Saturday, September 1, there will be a procession past the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, followed by a funeral service at Washington National Cathedral. He will be buried at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on Sunday, September 2.
As part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, ASPR’s mission is to save lives and protect Americans from 21st century health security threats. ASPR leads the nation’s medical and public health preparedness for, response to, and recovery from disasters and public health emergencies. During a special event, ASPR stands ready to serve in case of an emergency. For more information about federal medical response and NDMS, visit www.phe.gov.

THE ‘CARBON HOAX’
Dishonest language sullies the climate debate
By Jay Lehr and Tom Harris
The World Green Building Council (WGBC) defined a net zero carbon building as “a highly energy-efficient building with all remaining operational energy use from renewable energy, preferably on-site but also off-site production, to achieve net zero carbon emissions annually in operation.” WGBC reference the signing of the Paris Agreement as “the start of the most important race in our existence—the race to curb global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions so that global temperature rise remains below 2 degrees Celsius and, ideally, below 1.5 degrees Celsius.”
The public has unwittingly accepted the ‘carbon’ sleight of hand without realizing they were being manipulated toward negative thoughts about plant food. It is possibly the best example of subliminal brain washing ever.
Fears that CO2 increases can deleteriously impact temperatures should be scuttled as well. CO2 can only absorb a narrow wave length of the radiation returning to the atmosphere from the Earth, which initially absorbs it from the Sun. That wavelength is 15 microns or millionths of a meter. It is a fact that the atmosphere’s 410 parts per million of CO2 today has already absorbed essentially all of that heat’s wavelength the Earth has to give. Therefore, further additions of carbon dioxide can have no measurable impact on the Earth’s temperature or greenhouse effect.
For many, the real goal of these deceptions is summed up well by journalist H. L. Mencken, the sage of Baltimore, who once said, “the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed and hence clamorous to be led to safety by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” Global warming has been among their very best hobgoblins.
Misuse of the word carbon is not a laughing matter, however. This unsubstantiated fear is depriving the less fortunate among us of sorely needed inexpensive energy by eliminating life giving fossil fuels and the miracle molecule of life, CO2. In so doing, society is subjected to further government control, thereby reducing individual freedom, moving our country closer to socialism and away from capitalism.
In the coming days and weeks, take note of how often you read the word carbon when CO2 is in fact the real subject. Capture the picture in your mind when you read it. Go back and reread it as CO2 and capture your thought again. This is not like the difference between describing a flower as pretty or beautiful. It is an intentional distortion aimed at provoking fear. We must call them on it every time.
