Nathaniel Motte and Sean Foreman of 3OH!3 shared that "We want to include people from different backgrounds, walks of life and foster an environment that breaks down the barrier between the artist and fans. We want to be able to throw a party, celebrating 10 years of WANT and bring the unique energy of Emo Nite along with the energy we have always had." Pre-Sales begin today with all general tickets on-sale Friday, August 3rd at 10am Local Time. For more information, please head to http://www.3oh3music.com/.
Emo Nite LA, the event started by three friends (Babs Szabo, T.J. Petracca and Morgan Freed) at a small dive bar has grown into a full-blown phenomenon. They have been able to bring together some of the most incredible names in music who have become part of this Emo Nite "family", including Halsey, Sonny Moore (Skrillex) and From First to Last, Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional), Mark Hoppus (Blink 182), Post Malone, Demi Lovato and so many more. Emo Nite has been throwing regular events in dozens of markets across the country and have had spots on lineups at festivals like Life is Beautiful, Slam Dunk, BUKU and Vans Warped Tour. Additionally, the founders have created successful clothing collabs with companies like OBEY, Urban Outfitters, PLEASURES, Rose in Good Faith, OWSLA and more. But above all else, they have changed the idea of what a music event can be.
"We're really excited to throw these parties with 3OH!3 to celebrate their album WANT. These parties aren't going to be your normal rock show... Sean and Nat wanted to return to their roots of playing party music with friends in basements and at house parties so what better place to do that than Emo Nite. It's going to be nonstop action from start to finish and we're gonna have tons of special guests and surprises along the way. We've always been friends and fans of 3OH!3 so we're honored to be working with them on creating these unique experiences across the country" shared the Emo Nite founders on the announce of this unique tour.
The tour is a massive celebration of 3OH!3's debut album, WANT, which was released in 2008. That's right: ten years ago 3OH!3 burst onto the scene Kool-Aid Man-style and blasted the world's eardrums with a brand new sound. The duo, fresh out of school (one foregoing medical school and the other forgoing a promising career as a bike-sandwich-delivery-guy) released their first single, "Don't Trust Me" in June of 2008. The record found its way into the nation's heart like bacon grease; blending undeniable synth magic with a tongue-in-cheek, extremely catchy hook. Like wildfire, "Don't Trust Me" climbed the charts for 15 months before topping the Pop radio charts at Number One. Continue to stay glued to 3OH!3's online accounts and socials for BIG anniversary news.

Kanab’s Grand to Grand Ultra 2018 Crowns local Utahn, Jax Mariash as First U.S. Women’s Champion Along with China’s Penbin Chen as Men’s Champion
Kanab, Utah – USA’s Jax Mariash and China’s Penbin Chen became the female and male Grand to Grand Ultra 2018 champions during last Saturday’s annual competition in Kanab, Utah. Mariash was the first female to clock in at 39 hours, 10 minutes and 04 seconds, while Chen posted an overall time of 33 hours, 21 minutes and 32 seconds. This marks the first year for Grand to Grand Ultra champions to come not only come from the USA and China, but for a winner to come from the competition’s home state of Utah. Three locals from Southern Utah University also slid into first place for the team division and finished the competition in 59 hours, 20 minutes and 5 seconds.
The six-stage seven-day ultra-marathon foot race started at the awe-inspiring north rim of the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and finished on the summit of the Grand Staircase, one of the world’s most iconic geologic formations. The field of participants came from all over the world for this challenging test of survival in harsh desert conditions, assuming the responsibility of carrying their own backpacks containing food, sleeping bag, mat and other mandatory equipment for the week.
The course took competitors through some of the most remote parts of continental America, made up of an unforgiving and surreal desert landscape such as sand dunes, red rock canyons, buttes, mesas and hoodoos. Racers were required to navigate numerous slot canyons and cross the inaccessible high desert of the Colorado Plateau in the way of the earliest settlers, Navajo and Paiute Indian tribes, as they climbed more than 18,000 feet over the course of the race
Overall, 135 racers from 22 different countries started this year’s Grand to Grand Ultra where 111 competitors finished – a record low DNF (did not finish) rate. Warmer nighttime temperatures and cooler daytime temperatures helped push competitors on as they overcame other challenges like carrying all their provisions for a week through elevation, long distances and desert terrain.
The 170-mile long Grand to Grand Ultra has been ranked anywhere from the third most difficult to the most difficult self-supported ultra-marathon stage race in the world due to its unique location.
Whilst pre-qualification is not required, participants had to prepare for this grueling week-long race through endurance training and informed selection of gear and nutrition. Participants could elect to compete as individuals or teams. Participants are expected to possess basic outdoor survival skills such as familiarity with outdoor gear and backpacking. However, they are not required to possess any technical navigational or climbing skills to take part in the event.

Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment receive $120,000 for air quality project in Summit County, Utah
Environmental Justice funds among $1.2 million awarded nationally to help communities address environmental, public health risks
DENVER (October 4, 2018) -- Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it is providing $120,000 to Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment for a local partnership to improve air quality in Summit County, Utah, an area that experiences severe winter inversions. The project includes a voluntary fireplace exchange program for low and moderate-income residents and an education and awareness campaign for underserved populations to address the health effects of wood smoke. Project partners include the Summit County Health Department, Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties, and PurpleAir.
The Utah award is among $1.2 million in cooperative agreements awarded to ten organizations working to address environmental justice (EJ) issues in their communities. Projects selected this year reflect an emphasis on support for rural communities and watershed protection.
“EPA continues to support locally-driven efforts to address air quality challenges in Utah’s communities,” said EPA Regional Administrator Doug Benevento. “We are pleased to support this voluntary partnership, which will help lower and middle-income households reduce harmful particulate emissions and improve public health in Summit County.”
The 2018 awards provide up to $120,000 per project for a two-year project period. Special consideration this year was given to projects located in rural areas, with the goal of increasing outreach and community capacity building in areas where such resources can be particularly scarce. Eight of the ten total projects awarded are in rural areas.
For the first time, EPA’s Urban Waters program provided funding for projects, sponsoring work in two communities. By adopting a watershed approach, these projects will help improve the quality of local waterways and strengthen community connections to them.
The funding is provided through EPA's Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving (EJCPS) program, which supports local organizations in their efforts to develop and implement community-driven solutions that address environmental and public health disparities in minority, low-income, tribal and indigenous populations. The ten community projects were selected from 72 applications. A summary of each project is provided below.
2018 EJCPS Communities:
EPA Region 1 - Lewiston, Maine
Central Maine Community Health Corporation and partners seek to help underserved residents of who experience extreme poverty and disproportionate housing-related health impacts, including lead exposure and asthma, by increasing the number of healthy residential housing units and empowering those residents to access healthy housing.
EPA Region 2 - Camden, New Jersey
Center for Family Services, Inc. will develop a program to address illegal dumping that includes training for a “clean-up” corps of community youth, community events focused on illegal dumping education, and a marketing and advocacy campaign to promote use of an online portal for reporting illegal dump sites.
EPA Region3 - Morgantown, West Virginia
Friends of Deckers Creek will monitor fecal coliform and E. coli levels of the Deckers Creek Watershed, educate the public about the hazards of contamination and their rights under the Clean Water Act, and actively engage communities by holding public forums on contamination issues and involving them in the monitoring process. This project was funded by the Urban Waters program.
EPA Region 4 - Athens, Georgia
Athens Land Trust will monitor the disproportionate air and water quality hazards experienced by two historically African American neighborhoods and support environmental education initiatives to help residents understand the hazards and the steps they can take to protect themselves and their families from potential impacts.
EPA Region 5 – Au Gres, Tawas, East Tawas, and Rogers City, Michigan
Huron Pines will coordinate collaborations between rural coastal cities to identify environmental degradation issues due to stormwater runoff, strategically plan and leverage funding to protect water quality, and create a green infrastructure curriculum for the area to facilitate local environmental improvements and collaboration.
EPA Region 6 - Taos Valley, New Mexico
Amigos Bravos will work in the rural area of the Taos Valley to address water contamination of the Rio Fernando de Taos through water sampling and testing to determine sources of the on-going E. coli contamination and through watershed education activities, public meetings, and outreach. This project was funded by the Urban Waters program.
EPA Region 7 - Postville, Iowa
Resource Conservation & Development for Northeast Iowa, Inc. and partners will distribute free test kits for lead and radon testing, provide multi-lingual interpretation of results for residents, and bring together private and public partners to develop and implement remediation strategies and provide information about local environmental and public health issues.
EPA Region 8 – Summit County, Utah
Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment will focus on improving the air quality in northern Utah, which suffers from severe winter inversions. The project includes a voluntary fireplace exchange program focusing on low and moderate-income residents, and an education and awareness campaign targeting underserved populations to address the environmental and health effects of wood smoke.
EPA Region 9 – Winchester Heights, Arizona
Southeast Arizona Area Health Education Center, Inc. will provide community capacity building for an isolated, unincorporated community in southeast Arizona. Priorities include addressing drinking water quality by training community health workers on community involvement and education strategies, conducting home visits to assess drinking water, and remediation of drinking water issues through installation of water filters, application of chlorine, and/or addressing faulty pipes.
EPA Region 10 – Rural Alaska
Zender Environmental Health & Research Group and partners will pilot a backhauling program to address waste issues in 30 rural Alaska Native Villages located off the road system and only accessible by summer barge/boat or small plane. The project builds community capacity and leadership for villages to carry out a state-wide backhauling program where 160 villages use barges and small planes to transport their waste from tribal lands to proper landfills and other disposal facilities.
