Come help celebrate our Veterans on Friday, November 9th at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. The Fremont High School Concert Band will be playing the Star-Spangled Banner, Taps, and the Armed Forces Medley. Breakfast will be catered by Bella’s. All military veterans that live in Farr West are invited to attend.

As winter approaches, please keep in mind it is unlawful for any person to park any vehicle on any public street in the City between December 1 and March 1 between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. the following day until the street has been plowed after a measurable snowfall.
Approval of Eagle Scout Project – Tanner explained he will be cleaning and painting the fire hydrants in the Mia Meadows Subdivision. Tanner commented he has contacted Bona Vista Water, who has given him paint and brushes. Tom Burkland asked how many fire hydrants would be painted and cleaned, and where they were located. Tanner stated he will be painting and cleaning 15 hydrants and he had a map of their locations.
Assignment report
Boyd Ferrin commented the Mayor has discussed installing Pickle ball courts at the Smith Family Park. The Mayor has received a donation of $85,000 from Knight Trucking to start this project, and if the donation is approved.
Boyd also reported the road projects around the City were finished today. Boyd also reported some roads need to be re-striped. Two bids were submitted from All Star and American Paving; with All Star being the lowest big of approximately $10,000. Boyd continued to report that on the corner of 3300 North and Higley Road, a Bona Vista line broke, raised the road, and caused other damage. Boyd stated Dave Bunderson has gotten bids and Bona Vista will be paying for half of it.
Ken Phippen reported all the exercise stations have been delivered and organized in four projects. Ken also reported on the new camera system and the success the city has experienced with them. Ken commented cameras have not been installed at Mountain View because there is an internet issue. Ken also reported that law enforcement and several active transportation committee members have recommended changing the park hours to a half hour before dusk and a half hour before dawn. Ken then reported on grant training he attended, and then commented he will be attending the RAMP grant training on Monday. Ken also commented that he has located approximately three positions around the regional detention basin where small pavilions could be installed. There was further discussion of possible grants to apply for to cover the cost of those pavilions. Ken also presented the possibility of starting another fundraiser for the Smith Family Park. Ken commented this fundraiser would consist of engraved benches.
Tom Burkland reported on the Storm Water Drain Coalition meeting, and the Central Weber Sewer Board meeting.
David Jay reported on the Weber County Animal Control meeting.
Mayor Dickemore stated that a new Senior Center Director has been interviewed and hired, her name is Chris Midget and she will be introduced to the council at a later date.
Matt Gwynn reported on the Weber Fire District. The new deputy fire chief is Brett Clark. Matt also reported the crosswalk beacons will be installed in a couple of weeks. Matt thanked Lyle Earl and Lou Best for all of their hard work on the fishing club.
The new 12-classroom addition at Fremont High is nearly complete. The last phase of construction includes finishing the hall flooring and landscaping. Hogan Construction, Bott-Pantone architects, and our district personnel have been fantastic to work with on every phase of the project. Attention to precise details (such as custom brick) helped to ensure that the new building blends well with the existing structure. It's beautiful inside and out. The classrooms are fully functional and are equipped with innovative student furniture and the latest technology. Most importantly, by increasing the permanent capacity of our building, we have eased the growing pains we have felt for the past 15 years.
