The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced a new member of the Presidency of the Seventy, four new General Authorities, a new Sunday School general presidency and 42 Area Seventies at the Saturday afternoon session of the Church’s 184th Annual General Conference held this weekend. Callister said one of the priorities of the new Sunday School general presidency is a continued focus on the year-old youth Sunday School curriculum. “We’re trying to follow in the Savior’s footsteps of teaching, which involves inspired questions. It involves participation; it involves teaching to convert people, not just to teach them — to help them to understand and feel the Spirit of the gospel in their lives,” he said. Full Story
General conferences of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints take place every six months, originating in the 21,000-seat Conference Center in Salt Lake City and reaching a global audience estimated to be in the millions. The proceedings are available in multiple languages via television, radio, satellite and Internet broadcasts.
