Layton Hills Mall is now accepting applications for the 5th Annual KIDZ BIZ!

Looking for Youth Entrepreneurs

Layton, UT (April 25, 2019) Layton Hills Mall is now accepting applications for youth participants and business sponsorships for the 5th Annual KIDZ BIZ event. KIDZ BIZ is a program to encourage young people between the ages of 6 and 17 to learn about business practices, sales, and financial responsibility and to have fun while running their own company for one day in the Layton Hills Mall. In addition, prizes are awarded for various categories and participants keep all the money they earn to invest back into their business venture.

The KIDZ BIZ market day will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 12p to 6p in center court. This is the perfect time for children to test out their concepts, sales skills and see if their business model will work.  The event will conclude with an awards ceremony at 5:30pm. There will also be training orientations held prior to the event to assist participants with advice and mentoring.

“The best part is that the kids get to be the creative entrepreneurs,” says Danielle Bendinelli, Layton Hills Mall Marketing Director “they can manufacture something, offer a service, or sell a product!  There are a few restrictions, but we are definitely looking for a wide variety of concepts, and KIDZ BIZ businesses must have minimal to no parental involvement.”

How can Kids be involved? First, they must have a business idea, then complete a Kidz Biz Application form and return it to Layton Hills Mall no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, July 19th. Consultations will be conducted via telephone prior to the orientation to assist in creating business models for the 2019 event. Due to space restrictions, participants are limited.  For an application or more information visit the Kidz Biz event page at www.shoplaytonhills.com/connect.

Interested in a business sponsorship? We are excited to bring this event back for the fifth year in a row, and we can’t wait to see our mini entrepreneurs in action. We are looking for partners to help continue the growth of this event into a Layton Hills Mall tradition and provide an incredible outlet for children through a community-based collaboration. Sponsorship opportunities area available, and as always we are open to any ideas for making a partnership work. Contact Danielle Bendinelli at 801-546-3471 ext. 261 for more information.
