Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour Continues this Weekend in Mantua, Utah
MANTUA, Utah (June 18, 2019)—The second round of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour (PWT) is this weekend at Mantua Reservoir in Mantua, Utah. With four events on the 2019 docket, the points race for the overall championship will really begin to take shape as the season reaches the halfway point.
Team Supra riders Nic Rapa (Wakeboard) and Sean Silveira (Wakesurf) carry momentum into Mantua, after opening the season with wins in their respective classes in Katy, Texas, last month. Rapa edged fellow Australian Tony Iacconi and Shota Tezuka for that victory, with all three riders scoring over 90 points in the final round.
Cory Teunissen, the defending Pro Wakeboard champion, is currently fourth in points, followed by Team Supra rider Tyler Higham, the reigning rookie of the year and Massi Piffaretti, a three-time European Champion.
Silveira, who is the reigning Wakesurf champion, opened his title defense with a victory in Texas over John Akerman and fellow Team Supra rider Parker Payne. Silveira recorded the highest score of the day in the final round to open the season.
Mantua Reservoir, where the PWT returns for the first time since 2017, sits at an elevation of 5,000-feet-plus and rests on 500 acres at the edge of town. The Mantua Reservoir received rave reviews from competitors and fans, alike, in the series debut at the venue in 2017.
The Supra Boats SA550 returns as the official towboat for the 2019 tour. Known for its clean, consistent and controlled wakes, the SA550 provides a balanced ride, precise handling and the platform to push athletes to the next level.
Tickets for Saturday, June 22 can be purchased online in advance at a discounted rate of $5/Adults and $3/Children, ages 6-12. At the gate, tickets are $10/adults and $5/children.
