"Woe, She's a Gravedigger"

Lansdale, PA - July 1, 2019 - Lansdale pop punk act Merit has announced their third record, Living With The Low. Featuring latest single, "Woe, She's A Gravedigger," Living With The Low was recorded/produced by Matt Brasch of The Wonder Years, mixed by Nick Steinborn of The Wonder Years, and mastered by Bill Henderson of Thursday. Fans can pre-order the new EP, set to be released on July 26th, here: meritpa.bandcamp.com.

"The record is basically a psycho-self analysis of dealing with betrayal within romantic and other personal relationships," shares vocalist Mike Dougherty."The lack of honesty and loyalty, especially how constant it was in my life then, really played a part in the downfall of my psyche and has made an everlasting impact on how I handle things in my day to day life."

He continues: "Each song on this record has a specific emotion attached to them, that's why we named them the way we did. Despite its light sounding instrumentation, this is a very dark record to reflect a low period of my life. Hence 'Living with the Low."

Merit is a pop-punk band from Lansdale, PA. Since forming in 2016 the group has played up and down the east coast, growing their underground fan base with their catchy hooks and exciting live shows.

They will be releasing their third record, Living with the Low, on July 26th, 2019. The record was recorded and produced by Matt Brasch (of The Wonder Years), mixed by Nick Steinborn (also of The Wonder Years), and mastered by Bill Henderson (of Thursday).

To coincide with the release of Living with the Low, they are teaming up with local brewery, Imprint Brewing, to brew, can, and release a blood orange/pineapple/cherry/milkshake IPA dubbed "Pop-Punch," which will also be available starting July 26th.

Touring in early July and fall 2019, Merit sets their sights on pushing further west.

COLBERT: Talking The Democratic Debates!

Rep. Ben McAdams was the only Utah member of the House to vote for an emergency border funding bills that prioritizes money to care for thousands of migrant children detained in shelters. Salt Lake City's Congressman Stewart joined by the rest of the Utah GOP House delegation--voted AGAINST the emergency funding bills. Stewart said of his vote, "I just think it's our responsibility as a member of Congress to really truly do something to fund (the Department of Homeland Security) and (Department of Health and Human Services), something that we all know is going to reach a crisis in the next few days if we don't have funding for that." Stewart's words are doublespeak that even George Orwell would admire.

Gerrymandering! The Governor and the Legislature to Utah Voters: DROP DEAD. They have already wiped out Prop 2 (Medical Cannabis) and Prop 3 (Medicaid Expansion). Now the Governor says Proposition 4 (Utah’s anti-gerrymandering initiative) will not be used as a law--which it is--but rather as a 'guideline' and a 'blueprint'! Governor, look it up. Once an Initiative passes it is a LAW, not a guideline. That is until you and the legislature go in and repeal the voter-passed law! Such scorn and paternalism toward voters.

This Is How Gerrymandering Looks. SCOTUS Says Federal Judges Can Do Nothing. Want to bet Utah’s Supreme’s follow suit and rule that all is left to the legislature? A sad day for “Government of, by, and for the people.” A great day for government “of, by, and for the special interests.”

USDA Farmers Market Closed July 5 in Observance of Independence Day; Regular Operations Resume July 12 with a Celebration for Veterans

Washington, D.C., July 1, 2019 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farmers Market, located outside USDA Headquarters at 12th and Independence Ave., S.W., will be closed on Friday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day and will resume regular operations on Friday, July 12, with a special tribute to veterans.

“With the July 4th holiday falling the day before the market, we chose to close the market as many vendors requested that day off and we anticipate light customer crowds the day after the 4th of July evening events,” said Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Transportation and Marketing Acting Deputy Administrator Karla Whalen who oversees the Farmers Market. “We will return to our normal schedule on Friday, July 12, with special guests from the U.S. Army Band’s Country Roads and the Vietnam War Commemoration. The market is normally open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday from May through October.”

The market for July 12 will focus on honoring living Vietnam-era veterans with a recognition pin from the Vietnam War Commemoration. This includes Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of where they served, are eligible for the recognition pin. All veterans from this era and their families are encouraged to attend the celebration to receive information and materials from the Commemoration. In November 2018, USDA entered into a partnership with Commemoration and the Department of Defense.

“We are honored to play a role in recognizing these heroes and their families and we look forward to welcoming these special guests,” said Whalen.

The July 12 market also will feature the U.S. Sweet Potato Council in the VegU tent, the market’s popular fruit, and vegetable education program. The market offers an opportunity for more than 30 farmers, ranchers and small food businesses to sell their products directly to those who work, live and visit the Nation’s Capital. Shoppers can get produce, small farm raised meats, fresh-cut flowers, textile products, homemade bread, and local foods—from hot sauces to dog treats. Food businesses at the market use local ingredients sourced directly from farmers and ranchers in the region.

“Although the USDA farmers market will be closed, local farmers markets may be open. We encourage everyone to visit the national Farmers Market Directory at www.usdalocalfooddirectories.com to locate their community’s market,” said Whalen.

In a recent interview with CMRubinWorld, award-winning educator Koen Timmers discusses how borderless education can tackle the Sustainable Development Goals and promote Global Competencies.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) JULY 02, 2019

In the era of globalization, digital technologies have enabled learning among students in different countries. Koen Timmers, an award-winning educator, uses online learning to address real world challenges such as the climate crisis and to teach global competencies. Timmers works with teachers and students across six continents. “At this very moment, we have a community of 350 passionate teachers across 75 countries offering free Skype lessons,” Timmers tells C.M. Rubin, Founder of CMRubinWorld. Students have been able to learn from their peers how climate change varies from country to country and get direct insights on the impact on each other’s lives. “Schools in Ireland were closed for the very first time in history due to hurricanes,” explains Timmers. “In Sierra Leone, students were killed because of mud flows. In the Arctic region of Canada, ice is melting rapidly.” Borderless education teaches other skills too. “We are fighting polarization by allowing students to experience something they will still remember in 5, 10 or even 20 years, and at the same time instilling empathy by allowing students to have an intercultural exchange,” says Timmers.
