It is so exciting that Box Elder County was selected once again to be part of the Tour of Utah.  Lots of people came out to cheer on these amazing professional racers. 

Remember that School starts on August 26th. Promontory school kids have started August 19th. Watch for children and the buses in the community.

Welcome Council Member Blake Ostler

On August 8, 2019 The Perry City Council selected Blake Ostler to fill the recently vacated council position. Council Member Ostler has lived in Perry City for 13 years and served on the Planning Commission from 2014 to 2018. He has worked in commercial banking for the last 15 years, including his current position of 8 years at Bank of Utah specializing in Municipal Finance.  Council Member Ostler has a MBA from Utah State University and Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Brigham Young University.  We welcome Blake to the council and look forward to working with him through the remainder of 2019.

RECOGNITION AND FAREWELL TO JAMES TAYLOR At our July 11 City Council meeting we bid farewell to Council Member James Taylor.   He and his wife will be   serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cambodia.  We would like to thank Council Member Taylor for all of his service including, attendance at 85 City Council meetings, the adoption of 31 ordinances and 85 resolutions.  He was key in helping our First Responders become an independent unit.  He was a champion in environmental efforts including the Water Conservation Ordinance.  He was involved with the Wastewater Board reorganization and Bylaws. He also helped with the soon to be released General Plan Update.  He championed for competitive pay for employees and was part of making Utopia available to all residents.  He was always involved in the community and helped with the Peach Queen pageants and July 4th awards ceremonies among other things.  We wish him the best of luck and appreciate his service!

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT was on August 6, 2019 as “National Night Out” at the Perry City Park. This is a nationwide crime, drug, and violence prevention program. There was Police, Fire and EMS vehicles, a Monster Truck and Medical Helicopter, a bike rodeo for the kids and Food Trucks. It was a lot of Fun! Mark your calendar for next year.
