North Ogden Native Lending Support to Refugees in Greece

       Keli Hiatt Anderson, a native of North Ogden and professional photographer, recently had the opportunity, to travel to Greece with the non-profit organization called Carry the Future.

She was one of 8 women who, for 10 days, left the comforts of home and family to give relief to down-trodden refugees thousands of miles away.   This relief came in the form of baby carriers.

We will begin the SAGE Writing test  shortly after returning from Spring Break (April 11 – 22).  The Science, Math and Language Arts SAGE testing begins May 16 and continues through May 26.  Please encourage your students to attend and give their best effort.  Particularly avoid outside appointments during the morning hours on these days.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (April 27, 2016) – Compass Minerals has been honored with a 2016 “Earth Day Award” from the Board of Directors of Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining. In addition, the Board has selected Compass Minerals as the first recipient of a special award for noteworthy projects, “Best of the Best,” for exceptional environmental improvement work.

Ogden Youth Wins State Chemistry Challenge 

Ogden Youth Wins State Chemistry Challenge     YMCA of Northern Utah Hosts You Be The Chemist State Challenge as part of  its commitment to Youth Development and expanding STEM opportunities  for Utah’s Youth.    Starting in early March the YMCA of Northern Utah began its quest to find the You Be The  Chemist State Challenge Champion. Over 650 kids in 5th­8th grade from across the state  entered the first round of eliminations by way of taking a test provided by the Chemical  Educational Foundation.

$3,000 reward offered to solve Eden cat shooting case

Pet cat wounded by gunshot to head, Humane Society of Utah offers reward

 

The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for shooting a four-year-old black domestic shorthair cat named Blackjack. The HSU hopes the reward assists the Weber County Sheriff’s Office in obtaining information required to identify and charge whoever is responsible for this act of animal cruelty.
