Ethics And AI: Are We Ready For The Rise Of Artificial Intelligence?

  This year's education scandal saw parents shelling out megabucks to gain college admittance for their children. Federal prosecutors have charged more than 50 people with participating in a scheme to get their children into colleges by cheating on entrance exams or bribing athletic coaches. They paid William Singer, a college-prep professional, more than $25 million to bribe coaches and university administrators and to change test scores on college admittance exams such as the SAT and ACT.

There are plenty of news commentators who say America’s workers are doing just fine. They see low consumer prices, low unemployment, and a booming stock market as signs that all is well. But out in the real world, things are more worrying. Millions of Americans are barely subsisting on retail work in shopping malls and restaurants. And the kinds of jobs available to them are now declining in quality.

DWR stocks over 10 million fish throughout Utah in 2019 to increase fishing opportunities

SALT LAKE CITY — In an effort to enhance fishing throughout the state, as well as boost native fish populations, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources stocks a variety of fish species throughout Utah each year. In 2019, the division stocked more than 10 million fish into 603 local waterbodies, a total of more than 1.1 million pounds of fish.

The holidays are here, and for many parents, it’s all about managing their kids’ expectations. They think they need to give their kids the biggest presents, the most presents, and the coolest presents. But trust me: Little Sally won’t be scarred for life if she doesn’t get a pony.

As surprising as this may sound, presidents behaving badly is not new. President Trump is just the latest. Politicians have been skirting the law since the creation of politicians. This in no way condones bad behavior, yet if every conversation of every president was investigated, I believe we would be shocked at what we learned. 

SALT LAKE CITY — The swan hunting season was closed in Utah two days early after the federal quota of 20 trumpeter swans was met on Dec. 6. 

Starting tomorrow — Saturday, December 7 — hunters are prohibited from killing any swan in Utah.

The 2019 swan hunting season opened on Oct. 5 and was scheduled to run until Dec. 8, but was closed after the 20th trumpeter swan was harvested. Previously, the limit for trumpeter swan harvest in Utah was set at 10 swans, but that number was increased to 20 this year.
